So this movie comes out on Friday here, and it is pretty much the only movie in a very long time that I have been followed since I saw the first preview (January). The novel is one of the best books I have ever read, and a hundred times better than the Da Vinci Code in my opinion (which is probably why I thought the movie sucked). Let's hope Tom Hanks can do a good job this time.
...of course, I do worry that it could flop, in which case I will pretty much die a little inside.
Thoughts on this film?

Doubt it flops...it's Tom Hanks after all.
Haven't kept up on the series all that much but I know that it's controversial as hell. That makes for a good movie, usually.

Ehhh... I'll pass... Just another movie really. It claims to be controversial, but what's so controversial about fiction? Now something like Borat, it may be fiction, but that shit really happened. Now that's what I call a controversial film.

A movie that showed Nazi Germany wining WW2 would probably be controversial, depending on how it depicted it.
Really, anything involving touchy subjects like race, sexism, etc. has the potential to be controversial.
