It also seems like you need to have a copy of Windows XP to begin with...but the details on the licensing are vague so maybe not.

They also messed with Autoplay.

The dates are flying. We've had estimates of late July to sometime in 2010. Not Acer though. Nope, Acer UK is claiming October 23 is it. (Why not September 23? It's a far superior date...)

I'm getting it now, but I don't expect to have it downloaded until sometime later tomorrow. If I do get it done by tomorrow morning, I would suspect that it will be used heavily at the office if I get a chance.

I tried to install it on an old laptop, but it didn't have enough RAM

Currently thinking of some way to install it on this computer without messing things up too much, but nothing comes to mind. Oh well..

If by Dual Boot you mean Xp-7, be careful. I did that on the same HD with two partitions and my HD go wiped. (Gave me an excuse to get a 1TB drive though... )

I would do that, except this laptop doesn't support XP at all. The only way I can get XP on it is if I do some driver hunting and slipstream them to the disc, and quite frankly, it's not worth the trouble. I hope I can do Vista-7, though. I don't feel like reformatting at all, and I don't have an external HDD :/

I tried to download the RC onto my laptop, but apparently everytime the laptop fell aslep, it caused the downloaded file to become corrupt and had to start over. After the third corruption, I read the part where I'd have to do a clean install anyway, so I uninstalled the beta. ;


I may or may not try downloading it again later.
