Same here. I stopped buying them as soon as my flashcart was mailed to my house.

Anyway, if the Gold/Silver remake is true, I hope they improve Kanto a lot. Kanto was a major disappointment because you couldn't do anything except fight old gym leaders. :/ Everything else was either made smaller or completely blocked up.

The reduced Kanto actually set the stage for a lot of elements in Ruby/Sapphire and Fr/Lg, however. If nothing else they made it work after the fact...

Well, Red and Green were re-made for GBA so I think Gold/Silver for DS sounds like a perfectly logical and $$$-making proposition.

Even though it's going to be G/S/C remakes, I still think I'd be interested. I very much enjoyed G/S/C when I had them and it might be interesting to go back and play them again on DS. Sure I'd rather have new ones but I'm not really upset over this announcement.

Like I said I'm indifferent...I'll pick them up if they come out, and if they don't...I won't lose sleep over it, the games were nearly perfect as they were and I think because of that/that mindset its put me in, I'd be somewhat disappointed/inclined to nitpick at this...ehn...I don't know. We'll see how this turns out. I can think of a lot of ways they could make it amazing, but the fact of the matter is I don't think they'll actually DO any of those things considering they aren't in the same mindset they used to be. Oh, if only... I have faith in Masuda and Tajiri, though. Let's just see.....

Have they announced whether or not this will be compatible with the original DS or if it's DSi exclusive? Because that point alone will likely determine when I get this game (first-day or several months after release).

I highly doubt it'd be a DSi exclusive. However, I will bet that they'll put in DSi enhancements, much like how there were Super Gameboy and Gameboy Color enhancements way back when.

Whatever the case is, I'd love to get the game. Pokemon Generation II was the most memorable to me. I enjoyed the songs from it the most.

The DS user base is WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY larger than the DSi user base and will continue to be for a long time, if not forever.

A DSi exclusive feature or downloadable? Perhaps. Exclusive game? No chance in hell.

I thought all DSi exclusive games were to be downloaded, anyway. If there was to be a Pokemon DSi exclusive, it would be a puzzle game or spin-off or something.

Remakes? Meh, I just wish Game Freak would stop milking the Pokémon cow and do more original games, like Drill Dozer. They are good developers, and releasing identical triplets every few years is a waste of their talent. Re‐releasing older versions is even worse. What’s next, remaking Ruby and Sapphire?

Actually, that was just a rumor… they did trademark a couple names, but nothing that would obviously be a G/S remake (e.g. not “Dusk Gold” or whatever people keep repeating)

They also copyrighted several other names in order to fight the pirated hacks floating around on cartridges over eBay and other such things. Amethyst is not going to be an actual Pokemon game, for example. So really...one can just as easily say that it was part of that.
