| There's an obvious missing piece of information here.
What's the typical turnover rate for humane societies, particularly among the group of animals that they'd have in common? 95% sounds horrible, yes, but if they're bringing in exclusively pets that shelters would figure were unadoptable, well... 95% is still better than 100%. (Not defending PETA as a whole. They're a seriously fucked up organization, but statistics taken with no context are a bad thing, regardless of the target.) Also, source on the chicken embryo ban? Only thing I could find (hooray Google) was a ban on importing chickens from Thailand (and possibly the US, depending on hormonal treatments). |

| I'm not really a supporter of PETA. I agree with some of their positions, but not all. And I don't really agree with any of their methods. But, I really can't see equating the humane euthanasia performed by PETA, with the torture and abuse they fight against. |
