Yeah, it's great, but really short.

I'll be downloading Portal sometime soon, probably once I have a fast connection, like at home. I don't want to deal with Starbucks again.

Protal is a very good game. At first I though that the 19 rooms were all just part of a tutorial because they were so short although once I got to the point where rooms actually took some thought to get passed then I realized that it was actually part of the game . Unfortuneately it was kind of short but the fun factor definitely makes up for it .

You guys should try the Flash Version map pack. It's not the official maps, but it's pretty good. Portal Prelude's another good mod.

The first time I played Portal was over a year ago, so it will be nice to play it again. But will my computer be able to handle it?

Won't be here for a week because of a dumb physical education project where I need to spend seven days away from a monitor. I can't pretend to have done it, either, because my parents agreed to do it with me. (My brother didn't, so I'll have to avoid him somehow.)

In other words, all I'll be doing is finishing homework, drawing something random, sketching levels for games, going outside, reading books or playing board games. I'll probably even sleep hours earlier out of boredom...

Reminds me of the one I had to do for my class, except I stopped after 24 hours and don't have parents here to worry about. But damn, a whole week? Well, see you then I guess.

But Portal costs $19.99. The Orange Box special was $9.99.

In short, even if you only wanted to play Portal, you would have gotten it at 50% off.

I me some Portal. Yes, it's short. But it's still brilliant.

I'm very bad at First Person Shooter games, but I like a puzzle.

Can't wait to play it - when my internet connection decides to not suck and download at a decent speed, that is.

I have TF2 ready, though - possibly on the weekend?

Eh... not sure.

I know I meet all the basic requirements but you could always give it a test run if there's a demo for one of the games - don't all the games in the Orange Box have similar requirements?

Yeah, they're pretty similar requirements but it differs. TF2 is the most demanding game in the collection and Portal is the least demanding in general.

Also, www.systemrequirementslab.com is handy if you want to know if your compy can handle a game.

Edit: Why does this forum not auto-parse urls? :|

Ew.

Get something cheap to replace that eventually. A recommended system has a Pentium 4 clocked at around 3 GHz to start.

I'm not actually having much trouble running TF2, even in 1024x768 ingame resolution on my graphics card, which can't run Mirror's Edge without lag, and even Halo 2 PC can be laggy sometimes. I'm not sure how well yours will work but I know I was surprised at mine.
