Ok seriously, I wasn't sure if there would be big organizations out there that would do this, but DirecTV's "Refer a friend to DirecTV and you'll get $50, and they'll get $50" always made me chuckle a little on the inside. Are they really *that* desperate for business that they're *bribing* people?

Better yet, they recently increased it to $100. I wonder how long it'll be until it's up to $200, and then they just go bankrupt since nobody is doing it.

Best I've personally seen was working for RS.

RadioShack had a sale on TiVos. Free. How's that work? Buy it for 250, send in rebate, get check in mail.

No one bought them though.

I'm only 16 years old and I need ~$1000 dollars by mid-May, so I guess I'll have to resort to that DirecTV offer.

Maybe I could wash cars... That would take forever though, I'd have to secretly dump mud at night on my neighbors' cars to get them dirty fast enough so I can clean them again.

Join a hockey team and produce maple syrup as a side job.

I can't skate fast enough, and the maple syrup companies aren't hiring. Recession.

I'm in serious trouble guys. :x

Wow we both sound exactly the same (Canadian + wants PS3)! The only difference is that my birthday is in about a month and I'm making a deal with my parents for my PS3 to be an early gift .

My birthday too, is in almost a month. I'm hoping I get the other 400/500$ that day so I can get one. :x

I would have thought "out of season" right now...

Canada dollars<America dollars still.

It'll cost more here, and I'll still need games. :/

Well yea I know that...Colin sent me 10 US this last weekend which translates to about 12 there.

But you can still find PS3s for ~250 US if you look. Less if you dig into AS-IS easy-fixes.

Generally, mail-in rebates are extremely difficult to actually get. Companies like to "lose" them, void them for no reason, or just plain not pay them out.

In this case, 12-15 weeks for you to get it, if you're lucky.

I've actually got every one of mine from RS in the few that I did.

You could always sell your plasma. You can do this twice a month and earn roughly about $150.

Granted you feel groggy after the procedure. But you have money in your pocket. And if you are like me and live in the south. You get a free waffle from Waffle house!
