It'd eliminate most long-ass thread titles, for starters.

If nothing else, it'd be better for the SF crew...which was actually what I was thinking of more when I thought about this.

Would interfere with the alternate "Pages" link setting, not that anybody uses that dumb hting.

I've always loved this feature. I think it would be worth adding. (Even more so if thread creators could edit it without needing to ask a mod - so threads like my NSMB hacking thread could have the current editor version in the description, for example)
