Mushihimesama Futari made it to the 360...

Hooooo I don't see that being sent to the US but I'd suuuure like to see what Cave's looking at in terms of that one selling.

...well if the Japanese want it then...yeah...

I was looking at some of the comments and reading how they were upset this wasn't coming here. Frankly it's a good decision that it's not. The market for this type of game here would be VERY limited I'd think, unless everyone who'd seen that video wanted to try it out themselves. Still, not a good idea for an NA release. Import is the way to go if you want it.

I think it'd actually do pretty well.

Look at how they idolize Battletoads to this day. There are a strew of masochists that would love something like this brought stateside.

How so? Because the hardest difficulty on the final boss is a pain?

I'd buy it just because it'd be a nice change of pace for me.

iirc, Ikaruga didn't do terribly well here. Hell, I never even saw the game for sale. Now the game goes for upwards of 50 bucks used, but I think that says something. Usually harder to find games are more expensive.

I think if this Cave thing came over, it would have the same deal as Ikaruga: tough to sell, fall into obscurity, gain popularity, sell more copies used than new.

I don't know, just my opinion. Then again, Touhou is a huge hit in the Americas...Maybe it would stand a chance.

Being a good game amongst a small group of people who also tend to enjoy Toufou doesn't mean the rest of the English-speaking world is going to enjoy it. Far from it.

Would I like to see this brought over? Maybe as a digital distribution title. But selling it in stores wouldn't likely be worth it.

The only way you can hope to have success with these titles here is to bundle 3-4 of them in one budget package or to go the digital distribution route.

Konami could sell a few copies of Gradius VI (if they ever make it) here, for example... they likely wouldn't do so well with a new bullet hell-type game.

I just think it should be given the benefit of doubt...the difference lying in the fact that the want for bullet hell shmups state-side is ever increasing. Why else would you have companies like Rockin' Android being created that specifically handle this niche of gaming and then some?

More and more, it's getting to be somewhat of an...I dunno...'accepted masochism' but turns out to be really something someone with experience on it can do with ease...and I think that might be part of the reason, just like any other game, for why these games would do well anymore in comparison to maybe five years ago.

The Internet helps. It sells.

By the by, Cave is porting this themselves...they are not relying on a certain 5pb to do it this time.

This is good.
