The average American probably couldn't even point Venezuela out on a map. They may have vague idea of who Hugo Chávez is, but probably not make the association with Venezuela.

The main thing missing is a "Don't know" or "Unsure" option, which forces people to pick one.

The low favorability for Republicans alone speaks enough.

Maybe, but taking that way, I also view Venezuela more favorably than Republicans. It specifically says "overall opinion". Taking into account the warm tropical climate, 1 or 2 thousand miles of coastline, and natural beauty (Angel Falls comes to mind) my overall opinion is favorable. Actually seems like a nice place to visit.

Hmm, let's see:
They state in the party's platform that they're going to deny a group of Americans the rights they give to others (civil marriage to same-sex couples).
They vote against anti-discrimination and hate crime laws protecting homosexuals.
They vote against laws protecting the environment (like by cutting CO2 emissions)
They mention God during legislation to state why they don't support a bill. (Isn't that unconstitutional?)

I think they're being quite anti-American (be it against homosexuals, environmentalists [and the country's ecosystem] or non-Christians) in some way, don't you think? Granted, not all republicans are this way, the majority is though...
