Basically run by typical lobbyist scum.

Despite these attempts to make the “movement” appear organic, the principle organizers of the local events are actually the lobbyist-run think tanks Americans for Prosperity and Freedom Works. The two groups are heavily staffed and well funded, and are providing all the logistical and public relations work necessary for planning coast-to-coast protests.


You know what's really funny is that nobody making less than $250,000 had their taxes go up, making this whole event more or less an absolute joke.

I'm not a political person, so don't expect me to post again here. Hell, what I'm about to say is barely on topic.

I'm only here to say that I can't keep a straight face when I hear news about this. I play first person shooters, so I can't help but remember all the kids screaming into their mics, yelling whatever obscenity or taunt as they tap the crouch button on their downed victims.

But yeah. Politics are quite something. Yeah.

Last night, Eric Odom of the DontGo website — one of the organizers of the protests — wrote a blog post stressing that these protests are displays of “regular American[s] in protest of government spending and extreme taxation,” rather than something affiliated with a political party or special interest agenda.

Today on Fox News — which has actively been promoting the protests — Glenn Beck pushed the tea party talking points, similarly claiming that the protests aren’t “coordinated” and are fully organized by “regular” people. (Video at link)

Well you have to understand. That's where the money's at for the right-wing movement.The left-wing movement just gets its money from another source, the rich celebrities.

So right-wing gets its money from many people who come together and form a corporation that donates money while the left-wing just gets its money from those who are sitting high and mighty in their big mansions. Now I'm exaggerating here, but these are basically the majority of donators for either side.

I guess you missed it, but MoveOn has a max allowable contribution of $5,000 per person (due to being a political group). Same with Obama's political contributions; the maximum was about $2,700 (± $400)

Glenn Beck on Fox News has been encouraging people to go out there and defend their rights because they've been "getting taken away" (or whatever it was he said, I forget the specifics). Gun purchase rates are now though the roof.

Not even a week ago, somebody shot and killed 3 police officers because of all of this "they're taking my rights" shit.
