You done yours yet? Do you even need to? Did you pay? Did you not?

I got back money this year. Only three digits worth...oh well. Enough to fund a 32" TV purchase.

I got money back, but the end result (after, ahem, other taxes) is going to be insignificant.

I did mine back in late January.

Got double digits back, due in large part to being unemployed for three-quarters of last year.

Have you had tax taken out of your paychecks?

If your income last year was below a certain amount (I think 6,000), you get all of it back.

Due at the end of the month here, already filed last week.

Four-digit return.

Tax refund time!

I should get back a few dollars, I earned about uh half the lowest tax bracket last year.

I don't make enough money to really count.

If I sent it in I'd get a couple pennies.

I don't make enough and yet I have to pay a crap load back. It's like they want that refund check from last year back.

Well, the only reason I'm getting back so much is because I put more money into my retirement fund.

You get a good tax break off of that. I likely would have been at $300-400 max if not for that.

See, some of us don't have things like that.

But I was just a little shy of four digits aside from that.

As Mr. Cleric said, due for the end of the month here.

Getting ~$400, IIRC. Would've gotten way more, but all my school stuff (i.e: where I'd get the most money) will wait 'till I actually need that kind of money on my tax return.

A teller at the bank suggested an RRSP when I was there.
I'm freaking sixteen.

Erika: RRSP's are good! They give you big tax breaks and they're good for 40 years down the line when they gain interest and become the reason senior couples go for yearly trips to Florida or Europe.

I filed my income tax months ago, I got ~$1600 from federal, and $122 from state.

I sent out my state sales and use tax a few days ago. It was due February 28, but I swear I didn't even get the forms until the middle of March. I thought they were due the same date as income taxes, so I was procrastinating. Only once I started looking through the workbook did I notice the real date.

You're required to file even if you don't owe, in which case the late fee is a flat per day rate, and I would have owed a few hundred dollars. But since if you do owe it's a percentage per day, and it worked out to 8 cents. All together I owed $1.64.

They were sending me forms every month, and I was just filling most of them in with zeroes and sending them back. I missed one though, so they made an "estimate" of what I owe, and sent me a bill for $3900. I got it all worked out on the phone though, and they switched me to annual billing, which I don't remember even being given as an option when I first got my sale tax license.

Well that was a boring story. I guess you can only pack so much excitement into a story about filing taxes.

I did my taxes at the beginning of March. I've been averaging around $700 back a year. If you make below $12,000, I believe you also get Earned Income Credit on top of the taxes. I got my taxes done at H&R Block and I don't think I'll be going to them next year -- they charged $120 just to do a simple 1040EZ form!
