Seemingly envious of the tracking capabilities of other advertisers, Google has chosen to introduce a new feature wherein those supposedly innocuous Google ads now track your movements across multiple sites using a cookie.

While they claim it tracks no personal information... it's suspiciously like DoubleClick to me.

I've known about this for a while (it was in YouTube's prefrences at some point).

I just... don't care.

The things Google has to do to get some revenue from AdSense. I assume blocking the ads (as with Firefox's ABP) is enough to stop the tracking cookies.

Yes, because a single number is tracking and spoooooooky. I mean heaven forbid.

P.S. If you bothered to read, you can opt out.

By the way, did you know most sites track you in some way?

Ehh, I'm actually for tracking when it comes to reliable companies, such as Google.

Even if I have adblock installed but whatever, I actually believe that Google will use the info for good.

Yes, I am aware of what the browser can send and receive from servers through HTTP. And I don't really care either, I delete my cookies frequently and I never input real information about me anywhere.

I just thought it'd be noteworthy to mention, really.

My religious cookie blocking gets in the way of any scheme to meaningfully track my web movements.

Acmlmboards by design track a lot of stuff.

I make a habit myself of tracking things. Of course, I only do it so as to gain ungodly power to ban things from my sites, not so much anything else.

Shiny new layout!

They apparently have me pinned for Games and Video Games.

... Yeah, they're pretty much on target I guess. *ignore*
