So yeah, for a while, I've been working on a Level Viewer for Zelda - Oracle of Ages for Game Boy Color.

So here's the level viewer if you want to play with it, and see how the levels are arranged and what tilesets build them up.

Screenshots:

Screenshots are somewhat old, they don't include the indicator on the minimap

Now just make an editor for Link's Awakening that doesn't suck ass.

Also, huh. Why doesn't that room update map coordinates?

Heh, "Tina" and I were just reminiscing about the old GBA Zeldas just...yesterday, I believe.

This is uncanny.

And excellent, but mostly uncanny.

This is fantastic. Is there going to be a viewer for Seasons as well?

This is amazing! I've always wanted to play with the Oracle games! Do you plan to turn it into a level editor sometime?

I've released a new version that also views Oracle of Seasons.

This is defenitely something I will be toying with once it becomes capable of working at normal levels.

...Also. Since you know where the data is located in the ROM for maps, how long will it be until you start to prepare the editor for actual ROM editing? (Asking just to ask, don't worry.)

New Version Get!

New features:
* PNG export of tilesets and big maps
* Loads tile animation so that tiles appear correctly now
* Screen Viewer
* Other random stuff

Screenshots:
PNG Export of tilesets:

You can also have it export EVERY tileset, there's 128 possible tilesets (and even more in Seasons)

PNG Export of maps:

This may be a tiny thumbnail, but it expands huge.
You can export entire planes, or every plane in the game. It takes about 30 seconds to do all planes on a fast computer.

Screen Viewer:

That tileset export function is going to be really useful for a lot of people like me, thanks a lot for adding it!

Dude... I love you for this... I once attempted a level editor for these, but it was nowhere as near as good as yours... At all. Infact, I couldn't even compare it... I just can't wait until it saves...

Great job, please don't abandon it.

I think my head just imploded.

Though, I wonder if Seasons is similar (+ if a similar tool could be developed.)

I'm an idiot, opening Seasons works perfectly fine. (And I should also read the entire thread rather than paging through it quickly. )

Wow, I had no idea maps in the Oracle series weren't 16x16. That room in the top right confuses me, though. What in the world could it be?

I had seen the screens with just an "X" before, though

Yes, it's that map all right.
Set the area class to 50, and it displays correctly.
Or go down two planes, where there is a duplicate of that map which already has the correct area class set.
