I had 3 overpowered characters. Cloud because he was always there. Yuffie because I liked her and I gave her 4x cut to do 9999 each attack. Cait Sith because he had all the commands and could mime Yuffie with his own 9999x4 attack.

I relied on Cloud, Barret and Cid. Barret would sometimes be pulled out for Tifa.

Cid, with stats at 255+ for ATK, using Highwind under the status 'Hyper' was what I shot for most times. 20 x 9999 damage. Cloud had 16 with Omnislash and I wanna say it's 10 with Barret's Catastrophe...if I'm not mistaken, though, one of his Lv. 3 Limits did more than this but I never tried to get him working as such.

...except that no enemy could even survive that much so it makes it rather pointless.

And I don't think at the end of the game I ever had to use limits.

I don't think I ever beat Ruby because of that bullshit move that removed a character.

Emerald didn't even take that long for me once I was able to do 4x 9999 with all 3 of my characters.

Mime for the rest of the battle.

Ruby dies due to being Paralysed, while the targeting ensures the Tentacles will be continually killed.

I remember doing it with Knights of the Round instead.

With the Mystile it was pretty funny to watch most of the Ultima counterattacks miss. ;

I think I did Emerald's fight with Knights of the round...but I did it with HP Absorb attached to it.

So every turn I'd use it I'd heal like...9000 HP.

I really, really, REALLY should finish this game one day. Funny how my FF experience dies out after VI.

Hiryuu: Front Mission got remade for the DS. Never gave it a shot but I think it was received well.

Front Mission DS is pretty cool - the original campaign is mostly the same as the original SNES game. The new campaign isn't as good, but still fun. Also newgame+ for silliness.
