This is continuing, apparently...

Now I can kind of figure that a lot of people that aren't social are going to look at this and going 'they're stupid' but at the same time you have to figure that out at some point...and the fact these people are getting the rest of their lives screwed over because of this is getting really old. They're completely innocent of the repercussions most times.

Phillip Alpert found out the hard way. He had just turned 18 when he sent a naked photo of his 16-year-old girlfriend, a photo she had taken and sent him, to dozens of her friends and family after an argument. The high school sweethearts had been dating for almost 2½ years. "It was a stupid thing I did because I was upset and tired and it was the middle of the night and I was an immature kid," says Alpert.


Dumb decision? Very much so. Fitting of the penalty? Absolutely not.

I could agree with the penalty being hit with a fine or a few days in jail to get the point across. But being registered as a sex offender for life? No.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.
