FUCK YEAH, WAFFLE HOUSE.
Sadly, the closest thing here is Huddle House, and even then their quality of food (and service) has been consistently getting worse every time I went there.
There is a Waffle House an hour away from here though. I've been there a grand total of twice (once for me 13th birthday, and again after my mother went in for surgery a few years back (2004/2005))

Nearest IHOP and Waffle House exist about five minutes from where I'm at.
And I don't ever go. :\

| I prefer Burger King, but only because it's one of the only things here in walking distance. I actually just got back a few minutes ago. |

 | I went to a Waffle House and it was fucking amazing. I'm not sure if this is because I was hungover, or their food was legitimately delicious, but I loved it.

They're called "Eggo Waffles" and they're an acceptable substitute if you have a craving.

They're definitely not as good as the real deal.
Hell, even if I had a waffle maker I'd be happy.

| With the exception of Burger King I don't think any of the restaurants mentioned in this thread have stores within a 25 mile radius of me. I never even heard of Waffle House or Huddle House until this thread. I've never eaten at an IHOP, Perkins, or Bob Evans. I ate at a Denny's in Chicago once, it was kind of dirty and the waitress was rude. |

Most likely both.

I had never heard of this "Waffle House" until I googled it right now. But I really do like waffles. |

I have a McDonald's 4 minutes away from me by foot.
I've gone once in the last year.
So yeah, either I'm eating healthy or acting lazy.
(But, if that McD's closed and was replaced with a Waffle House or IHOP, good night.)

Big downside to living in New York City: There are NO Denny's or Waffle Houses. AT ALL. I'm serious. The nearest Waffle House is in Pennsylvania, and the nearest Denny's is in New Jersey.
Apparently according to the IHOP website, there are a lot of IHOPs in the five boroughs but none anywhere near enough for me to care. :< (I'm not about to walk down to the boulevard at 3 in the morning and wait an hour for the bus toward Jackson Heights to ge there...)
If there has to be only one thing I miss about visiting my aunt in Tampa, it'd be Denny's visits.
Anyway, at least there's the 7-Eleven and 24-hour Burger King in my neighborhood... And I love Burger King. McDonald's can go die in a ditch.

Burger King is okay but it's all about walking down the street to the 24-hour convenience store and getting a box of frozen White Castle.

I think I remember a White Castle being somewhere near where I lived before I moved.
I never went in there though ... |

Never have. I think I've tried the store bought ones though.
