I pick Warrior so I can use swords, armor, shields, helmets and gauntlets.

I'd choose theif or archer because I always used to choose warrior.
Why is there no Red Mage equivalent? Stabbing things that are on fire is the best.

Despite the Knight part of my name, I've always been partial to Archers, which anyone who follows my Shining Force II videos would already know. I think it's the entire idea of a support character that deals damage indirectly, rather than attacking directly or adding status.
Although the Archers in the Might and Magic series also learn Sorcerer Spells, and can typically still equip the heavier melee weapons. On the other hand, the Archers in Tactics Ogre games suck. I guess you just have to take what you can.

| Thief would probably be my number one choice nowadays. I like the "outhinking" an opponent aspect. Wizards are fun though, too. |

I'd be a Wizard, so I could attack safely from far away (unlike Thieves and Warriors) while possibly abusing elemental advantages (unlike Archers).

Reasons for Archer;
1: Long-range attacks
2: Sometimes does not require arrows (or they are cheap)
3: Being distanced saves HP, which saves Potions, which I prefer not to use when I can recover over time or for free
4: Shining Soul 2 Archer. Criticals, HP-Recov, rapid-fire charge attacks, middle-class armor, he's just got good all-around power. (opinion)
