It was the first ride that my hubby and I went on. It was like 10am. No lines since it was the day after Halloween Horror Nights ended. The BEST day to go. Most people are in school and work and all the tourists are gone because the Halloween event is over.

Last I went was 98.

It didn't really wow me that much. The cruise it was attached to was fuck-way better.

The only real ride that's left a real imprint on me is that fucking ZIPPER ride they have at those county fairs - the one that, at idle, looks like an I-block, but it has cars on it like a Ferris wheel. When it's moving, the I-beam spins clockwise and the cards on it start going around and around and around in the damn thing...so you're either doing backflips or frontflips while this things going around like a fast Ferris Wheel.

Worst was a double-duty run because no one but me and a couple other people were on it. 10 minutes of this. I'm surprised I didn't toss it all.

Islands of Adventure wasn't around in 98, was it?

Because the original Universal Studios doesn't have much of anything anymore.

Think that wasn't for another couple of years.

We didn't stop by Universal, though.

I was at Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom in 2006, followed by a cruise and a wedding.

Last time I was at Islands of Adventure, I think it was 2005, maybe 2004.

I was at Disney World in '98 for my high School's grad night.

In '94 I was at Universal for a 7th grade trip.

I know I went to Disney a few times when I was kid, but I can't remember when.

Wait, what park are you talking about?

Pretty sure Islands of Adventure was around in 1998. I went there on a field trip while in eighth grade because it was opening up. I remember the Spider-Man ride stopping for a moment because of a power outage. And I just happened to be in the ride. In the sewer area? It was somewhere inside. In any case, everything was pitch black. And then I said "I think there's a raptor loose."

Good times.

Also, nice one, Xksy

Edit: Wikipedia says 1999. Makes more sense to me. I doubt I would've gone there at the beginning of eighth grade.

With our annual passes we can go to both parks but we usually go to Islands first and head to Universal next for like three rides (The Mummy, Simpsons, and MIB) so long as the lines aren't too long.

After that we head back to Islands and redo things we wanted to do again since lines usually become short there.

Althought we probably aren't going to eat at Hard Rock Cafe again. While it was good as hell it was also expensive for just three people and we have five people in this family...

I really want to go on the Simpsons ride. It's the only reason why I would go to Universal again.

Good lucking not waiting a long time for it.

First time I rode it I waited an hour. It was a good ride but not worth a freaking hour wait.

And that's why I go when I know there's not a lot of people there.

Is any ride worth an hour in waiting?

And that Radd icon really is a swiss army knife.

No.

The complete irony is that the shortest ride in all of Islands is the Pteredon Flyers (a simple ride that kids can go on) and the wait time ALL DAY even when there aren't a lot of people is generally an hour long.

Last I was there every ride was at most 10 minutes in waiting.

Splash Mountain!! Of course I'm a sucker for water rides. And that Rocky and Bullwinkle ride. I kept riding it and my hubby would just shake his head.

Agh! Water rides! I'm fine with roller coasters, but I'm scared of those falling boat rides. If it wasn't for the scenery in Splash Mountain or the Jurassic Park ride, I wouldn't get onto those things

Jurassic Park is another one that I love! But I can never sit in the front. On any ride.

Jurassic Park was closed when we went to Universal.
On account of RAIN.

Oh yeah. Happy Birthday Kirbynite.
