How many languages are you fluent in?
I'm assuming you're already fluent in English.

Aside from English, I'm fluent in Spanish and (partially) in Italian and French. I'm also trying to learn Russian; I'm currently working on the grammar.

So, in how many different languages can you speak? Which languages are those and which would you like to learn?

German and English. I had French in school but forgot most of it already, and I'm currently taking Russian in school.

German (native) and, well, English. Somewhat. I guess it's enough for most people around here to understand me, but I still don't feel confident enough to, say, talk with other people in English (as in, using my voice) or something like that.

Hm.

I know English (Native) and can speak some German (3 Years). (Maybe enough to get around... I'm sure if I have trouble the Germans will start speaking English XD)

I took 2 forced years of Spanish with a shitty teacher so I remember nothing... I also took 2 years of Latin but I remember very little.

Just English for me. Three years of Spanish got me a fancy diploma from high school, but I can't remember much from it, plus a lack of a practical use for it...

I want to learn German and Japanese though.

Just English. I wouldn't call a tiny amount of French fluent.

Oh my god, Kattwah's layout works!
--------------------------------

Fluent in English, French, and for some unknown reason, I can speak Latin really well (I never took courses on it either .. mostly self taught out of sheer, sheer boredom.)

The US really needs to work on it language teaching techniques. Other languages are taught in our schools just like in other countries, the only difference seems to be that in other countries the students actually to learn those languages.

I got a copy of Rosetta Stone once and was going to learn Italian because I was thinking about going to Italy. I just didn't stick with it though. If I ever decide to try again, I think I find a language where they don't assign their words genders, because that's just silly.

I noticed. That might be because in other countries, the students start with their foreign languages very early (first in 3rd grade, second in 7th grade, third in 11th grade) when it's still easy for them.

Languages with genders are the majority among the popular languages. You might, however, want to pick a language where the genders are fairly obvious.

Oh, I thought it was just Romantic languages. Oh well, maybe I'll try one of those constructed languages, I assume they're not like that. I'd hate to think someone would purposely make a language like that.

I'm "fluent" in German

Yeah...

I mean, I have 5 years of instruction under my belt, not like it does much for me

Plural.

It gets a gender all to itself it's so cool.

English only.

Not that I haven't tried in two others but I'm too stupid.

I think Polish has five "genders": Personal masculine, animate masculine, inanimate masculine, feminine and neuter. I'm not 100% sure of that though...

And Hungarian nouns decline to 18 grammatical cases and four politeness levels.

English and Japanese... well, dad spoke both but I didn't really learn or use a lot of English until I was older.. I grew up speaking the Kansai dialect of Japanese (kansai-ben)
