NOT OVER YET
LEFT

A little lockdown.

Warning bell came on, right in the middle of a test for history. At first, we were like "oh, whatever. We'll sit and wait before protocol kicks in." Sounded like just some earthquake drill.

Then the administration gets on the intercom, saying to close all windows, doors, etc. It wasn't a drill.

So we were pretty freaked out during the first several minutes, but then it came to just kinda, uh. Chilling around.

Getting out of school was the fun part. Everyone crowded around the front gate, making it impossible to hear what was being shouted through the megaphone and to even see out the gate.

That is a good thing that there's such a thing as cell phones then...probably would've freaked out worse otherwise.

So did anyone figure out if some prick was just joshing or if it was really a mistaken case of 'I really thought he had a gun!' going?

So far, nothing yet. The exit exam was taking place today, though, so that lends to the whole being-a-prick-to-get-out thing.

We had an instance like that, but as far as I know it was actually real (somebody in the community college across the street had a gun, afaik). Needless to say I wasn't going to school then

There was a shooting at my school where a teacher was killed in the parking lot by her ex-boyfriend. A few bomb scares that made us stand outside for a bit as well.

Nothing has really happened here yet, I mean, we do lockdown drills, where fully armed police with semi-automatic weaponry come in and everything.

Although, at my old Jr. high there was a real fire and we all had to evacuate to the high school.

A similar event happened in my school a few days ago (two weeks maybe)... We were on math class and we got alerted by other students that there was a bomb somewhere on the school, everyone freaked out and got outside, the police came and found the bomb and deactivated it.

It was a very good experience Except for the fact that the teachers knew and were moving their cars elsewhere without even telling the students about the bomb. (until they moved their cars)

I just had to LOL at how much those cops in that picture looked like such misfits.

Especially Officer Bobbyjay-Cletis on the far right, standing next to Officer Nappa.
