My Gamecube and N64 are in perfect wroking condition, I should play DK64 again.

I think they're my only unbroken consoles at the moment too. >.>

I guess I should mention I've got the NES Four Score as well as a Max controller. Four Score is great, though I have no games that make use of it. The MAX sucks. Big time. I don't even want to explain how bad it is... I'll go on for a whole ten paragraphs.

So what do you guys think about this new movement for flash carts for the older systems? I've had my eyes set on a powerpak for the NES, but there are hints of Genesis, N64, NES, and SNES carts being made by NEOFLASH. I hope N64 gets one though. I really want to play all those games again.

I'd most like to see a proper Super Game Boy emulator. Then it could use the full 16-bit features, not just show a game's included border image.

I'd still be playing Perfect Dark on the N64 if it wasn't for the controllers MORE THAN CRAPPY (tm) joystick.

Seriously.

My old gameboy still works perfectly tho.

If only Link's Awakening was fine (dead save battery, I think)

Grabbed Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance yesterday for the GCN.

That brings my total game count on that console to 3.

I haven't even been able to get a Gameshark to work with my N64. I've picked up 3 different Gamesharks (two are V3.2 and the other is V3.1 I think) and no matter what I do I can't get them to work. I've searched for solutions although it seems that once it's locked it can't be unlocked unless you attach a certain game to it .

What games do you have? More than one game can unlock the Gameshark, although it does depend on what game the Gameshark has been set to.

It's also possible the connectors are dirty, so try cleaning them out and see if that makes it work better. (Even if this isn't the problem, it's still good to keep things clean.)

I have a lot of N64 games and I tried almost all of them with the Gamesharks but they still won't work. I have also tried cleaning all three of them and it hasn't made a difference .

You also cleaned the connector inside the N64 and the game cartridge connectors, right?

It could be that the cartridges have to be tilted a certain way for it to work, just like mine.

Or it could be that someone thought the Yoshi's Story boot code would be a good idea. Apparently, it doesn't work with very many games.

I never clean the connectors inside the N64 although other games always work 100% of the time (although the Gameshark obviously isn't like "other" N64 games ). Also what do you mean when you say that it has to be tilted a certain way for yours to work (It naturally stand straight up so I'm guessing that you push something against it to tilt it while the power is on?).

I push the Gameshark so it's tilting backwards or forwards and do the same (or opposite) for the game connected to it, and eventually I get some combination of tilting that allows it to boot. It doesn't tilt very far, but it's enough to make a difference. It stays tilted far enough without anything pushing against it.

Keep in mind that this is on a system that has no connection issues other than with the Gameshark.

The original NES Game Genie was a bitch and a half. Trust me, you NEEDED to keep your NES in good shape (like me) or run into the problem of games only working when hooked up to the Game Genie.

I've never used a NES Game Genie or any cheat code device for that matter. The only thing I used were cheat codes back in the day.

I know exactly what you mean. There was a time when I was using Game Genie almost every day until I realized that it was bending the heck out of the connectors inside of my NES .

Anya: Well, the problem is that a lot of people were lazy and just kept using the Game Genie on the NES even if they weren't going to put in any codes.

Not the smartest idea in the world for your poor system.

It took me a long time to realize that it was actually the Game Genie causing the problems.

I just thought it was something that happened naturally, and using the Game Genie was a convenient and lucky way to fix it.

Sukasa - Send Private Message

Got bored and hit up a pawnshop in town, turns out there had an interesting cart there:

Donkey Kong Country 2, for Super Famicom.

Cost me $20, so I guess it wasn't too bad. Now I'll just have to disable the lockout on my console and play it

Not a bad find; for a split second I thought it was the DKC2 pirate cart for the NES.

I liked renting Baby Mario (Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa) and SMB2j at the video store when I was young; you know, when pirate carts turned up in the strangest places.
