I actually want to play it, and have ever since he revealed it. It looks like a fun game. Too bad his attempt at marketing fails horribly.

It makes me wonder if Nintendo would have accepted his application if he hadn't done all this..

He's actually revealed the plot for it now. Apparently everything he's done is part of the storyline for the game, etc etc. It seems quite interesting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUSjogQW8-U

He also mentions this in one of the comments:

"bob's game" is 64 megabytes, 64 times the size. I made it full time 10+ hours a day. It contains a platformer the size of Doukutsu.

I'm guessing that's referring to this quote from the video:
"In order for Yuu to discover and collect playable games for his Gantendo BS handheld gaming console!"
Apparently there are other games inside it - so it's not just an adventure game like we assumed.

(is it bad that I'm already thinking about ROM hacking it?)

Yep, that seems to be the point, "Bob's game" being the "greatest game ever made" INSIDE Bob's game. So yeah, a play-within-a-play sort of thing. I'm guessing that the games will be only actually playable during the second half of the game, on Yuu's "Gantendo BS".

The big mystery is still what Bob's game inside Bob's game is.

So wait, the whole thing on his site was all a farce, not about he himself going insane, but was supposed to portray the bob inside the game instead? Whoa, too many layers...Still though, the idea sounds solid enough now that I know he's not a total psychopath. It seems worth trying out. Though I wonder if it's really coming for DS or not or if the whole not-acquiring the kit thing happened in real life, not the gameverse he created on his site.

I have no idea what to do after playing for 20 minutes. Not really impressed. It's technically impressive, seeing as he did it by himself, but I don't like being stuck. Unless that's just the end of the demo. ____________________
