The four took the opportunity to visit the salesman Scrub before continuing to search the floor... Fate, after getting two Mushrooms from the Scrub, found 5 coins lying in the dust on the floor. The Business Scrub noticed Fate's rather sizeable inventory... Scrub: "Say there, miss, would you like to sell me some of that stuff? If you don't need it, of course... I can't buy it for the full sale price, but you'd at least be getting some cash back for it instead of having to lug it all around." Lily, grabbing a Mushroom and two Mysteries from the Scrub, popped one of the Mysteries open to reveal a DizzyDial inside. However, she didn't notice the Bombchu on the square she'd walked to... Jumping at her, the Bombchu grabbed Lily's Syrup! Eppy, after buying 4 Mushrooms, climbed back down the ladder only to find a Rat lying in wait for him. The Rat snagged the Yellow Crystal out of Eppy's bag and began trying to run away... X, ignoring the shopkeeper, found a shiny green Frog Coin on the square he'd chosen. ------ Scrub: "Buy somethin', will ya?" --Scrub Shop-- 10c: Mushroom - Restores 10 HP. 30c: SuperShroom - Restores 30 HP. 10c: Syrup - Restores 10 FP. 10c: FireFlower - Attack one enemy with fire. Lily: ... Lily suddenly realized something was missing from her pouch as she put her dizzy dial away. She turned to see a Bombchu running off with her Syrup. Lily: Did you not see what happened to one of your pals the last time they tried to steal from me? She quickly pulled out her spear shaped pendant, which instantly transformed into what appeared to be a mechanized hammer with two exhaust pipes. Lily: You don't steal stuff from me! Lily swung her hammer as hard as she could at the Bombchu that had stolen her Syrup. ____________________

Fate: Only bought items huh? Fate shook her head, declining the offer even though he had determinedly read her mind. Fate: Maybe sometime later down the road, though. Looking around for her next stop, she noticed Lily attempting to beat up another one of those rodents. Recalling how bad it was last time, she figured she might as well help out... Fate: Photon Lancer... Fate charged yet another Lightning attack up and with a "Fire!" sent a volley of energy spheres at the Bombchu who was syrup-snatching Lily. ____________________

With purchases taken care of, the four kept looking for a way out... Lily tenderized the Bombchu with a thwack from her hammer, doing 10 damage to the rat to knock it out. Her Syrup was returned to her, and she gained 80 SP and 8 coins for the effort. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lily - Level Up HP increased by 2! FP increased by 2! Attack increased by 1! Magic Defense increased by 1! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fate, unfortunately, found her target had already been taken... Eppy zapped the smaller Rat for 5 damage, knocking it out as well. He regained his Yellow Crystal, as well as gaining 50 SP and a FroggieSoda that the Rat was carrying as well! (OOC: FroggieSoda restores 10 HP to all party members. With little left to explore here, the four combed the few remaining squares... Fate was blindsided by a Bombchu that jumped from behind her to snag a Mushroom out of her bag. Unfortunately for her, it ducked into a nearby mouse hole to get away scot-free... Eppy found a little loose change on the ground: 5 coins total. X, after finishing his business with the Business Scrub, noticed light peeking out from behind some vines hanging over the wall. Pulling them back, he found 50 SP floating in the air, along with a door leading off the floor... Lily, after cracking open her Mystery items to reveal a Mushroom and a PoisonShroom, Shielded herself before following the other three through the vine-covered exit. (Lily's Braveheart wore off.) --- Walking through the vines, the four could hear the calling of seagulls and the salty smell of the ocean...wait, the ocean? Looking around, they found themselves on a large sandy beach. Behind them stood what looked like a large temple of some sort, with the entrance covered in vines. Large, rocky cliffs rose up behind the temple, with palm trees growing here and there. It seemed to be a rather cozy and quiet beach...well, at least for a moment... ???: "HEY! Come back here with that!!" A very harassed-looking girl came running around the corner of the temple, chasing a small green creature. The creature, carrying a large black witch's hat above its head, dodged nimbly around the four adventurers--but the girl chasing it didn't. She crashed headlong into them, knocking everyone to the ground. ???: "O-U-C-H-!!!" Getting up and dusting herself off, the girl looked around for the creature that had been carrying her hat, but it was nowhere in sight. Angrily, she glared at the four people she'd just run into. ???: "Now look what you've done! Those Tokay already got away with everything that was in my bag, and now they got my hat too! I don't even have my broom or my spellbook to cast any spells... "Well, I'm not going to stand for it! The Great Witch Maple won't be bested by some silly green lizards!" With that, she stomped off along the beach, climbing some vines to the top of a cliff and leaving out of sight... Don't just, like, bump into us, snap at us, and then walk off without giving us a chance to say anything! It's fine if I do it, but not some witch! She lowered one of her eyebrows. Lily: She said her name was Maple.. That name totally sounds familar.. Her eyes widened for a moment. She quickly opened up her pouch and began sifting through her items. Lily: Okay.. I still got my stuff.. Well then.. I better get to work. I don't know if that witch is a treasure hunter, but I won't doubt that she might have an eye for treasures that get in her way. Fate sighed. Thinking through this entire thing didn't make much sense whatsoever. They were in a tower...right? So... Fate: Why do I have a feeling that all of this isn't quite...real? She said this to herself, wondering if any of this layout was supposed to mean something. Her brain cranked another two seconds in this regard before she shrugged it off, thought of how she missed Nanoha, wanted to bash Bardiche through a wall, wanted Bardiche to work right so she could tear a hole through this farce and just get done with everything so she could go home and SLEEP. Sleep would be good right now. She looked back at X, who didn't seem to say much of anything (or -do- anything, for that matter), turned around, shrugged again and moved her rear over to square 12 and took a look around. ____________________

The four split up to search the island... Eppy noticed something sparkling near the southern beach. Getting closer, he found that it was 25 Star Points floating in the air! Lily walked over to the western peninsula. From the cliffs above the beach, she could see something small bobbing out in the waves offshore... Fate, wandering to the east side of the island, walked into a tepee that was situated on the beach. Inside, she found Maple yelling at another green lizard, who seemed to be running some kind of shop... Maple: "Those are my things! Give them back to me!" Lizard: "I found these lying on the beach. If you want them, you'll have to trade for them." Maple: "But they're MINE!!" A sign in front of each of the items caught Fate's eye... "Book with many pages: Trade for 2 Scent Seeds or 1 dust cleaner." "Stuffed Tokay with no tail: Trade for 2 Scent Seeds or 1 clear ball." Maple, having noticed Fate also in the shop, turned to her. Maple: "Hey, er...whoever you are...do you have anything you could give this lizard so I can get my stuff back?" ... Fate: Uhm... Fate did a double-check of her inventory; none of the items sounded familiar, at least. Although she did have a sizable encumbrance (still), she didn't end up finding any of the items necessary to trade off for the book or the weird looking lizard...thing... Honestly, she didn't know why someone would want one anyways but she wasn't going to be one to judge. Furthermore, she seemed like she needed some help and she wasn't really in a mood or position to refuse. Fate: ...I don't...but that's not to say I won't help you look for them. Fate said this as helpfully as she could, smiling...although internally she had the feeling that it might be as futile as searching for a needle in a haystack. The only help she could figure from this was that what was being traded and what you would get might somehow be related and the fact that there were three other people that were here that could help, not counting Maple. So at least she wouldn't be completely clueless in this. Now as long as the needle didn't move, they might have a chance. Fate told her that she would head out and tell the others that she was traveling with to do a search as well, figuring that they wouldn't mind (except maybe X, but she didn't mention that). She exited the hut, walked over to square 18, and signaled to the others with a holler and a wave. ____________________
