One of my old friends used to be obsessed with Diablo II, until his mom broke the disk. This looks kinda interesting though

Oh my god, Kattwah's layout works!
--------------------------------

Oh, they must have extended the release date. Last I checked, it was late June .

Either way, I'm really looking forward to this. I spent countless hours on D2, and if D3 is going to be the same idea with vamped up graphics, it will be awesome.

I should play it again. I have the battle chest of Diablo somewhere around here.

I have to admit that I'm almost sick of the Diablo Formula...I can pick it up and play every now and again though. I hope Blizzard make the experience a bit fresher than Starcraft II looks to be.

That being said, I find Diablo II too dated nowadays (especially that it's limited to 800x600 ). Enjoyed playing through Titan Quest recently, though.

So the beta would start on 9-11 and the game would come out on 12-24?

I call BS on that one. Why release a game the DAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS? I could see late November or early December to drive holiday sales, but not the day before.

I just hope it comes out with a *craft style trigger/level editor.

I really don't like the Diablo series much, since they're RPGs distilled down the core things I dislike about RPGs, but...

With a trigger editor, you could make a DotA clone in the Diablo engine. And that would be worth buying the game to me.

When it comes to Blizzard games that aren't World of Warcraft, I take a "I'll believe it when I hold it in my goddamn hands" approach to release dates.

During this time, they're asking for advice on the next patch for II.

Oh, I do hope they support a resolution that's greater than tinyxtiny. That would be really nice for us players who hate looking at how tiny the screen is in windowed mode.

Wow... they want to release a patch for it?
I'd say at least a screen resolution option..

Yes, definitely.

Although can you imagine playing Diablo II at something like 1920x1200 (my screen's native res)? It'd be like peering into an ant colony.

Still, the option of bigger and better is sorely needed. ;
