It seems I have neglected to post about the most epic rounds I have ever played. It started out as a normal round of Granary CP where Countmoney and I were on Red. I went Pyro while he went Heavy and then eventually medic.

We struggled over the middle point for quite a bit only to lose it. We then were pushed back into our 2nd point. We held amazingly, but they over took us again, forcing us back to our final point. The continued to set up sentries and make ubers at our second point, which I continuously warned the team about and actually took care of myself sometimes...

We had just about lost it, with the cap on our point a micrometer away from capture, when I rallied the troops via the mic. I set our team up with coordinated pushes and such. We took back our second point after a massive amount of losings and retakings.

We then made a HUGE push for the central point which we held on our first try. At that point we were unstoppable. We flooded into their second point after some struggling getting there. I actually had to force the charge since everyone had the idea to sit and guard the middle point...

I simply flew in there, lit the room up and screamed into the mic for everyone to push. They did so, and then they simply ran off and took the final point. The match was 1 hour and 30 minutes. When the match ended, 3/4 of the blue team had disconnected. I was so proud of my team.

That sounds like an amazing round.
I had something similar on Blackmesa last night, we went from capping our second CP a second before loss, then took it from there and won over the course of the next 10 minutes.
Then we were unstoppable, and won 3 rounds in a row.

I mean uber long as in 2fort 300 minute instant respawn. I've seen that timer run out more than once.

The old version used the vents a lot more.

It's always satisfying to come out on top.
I think the most points I've ever had was 183-ish, playing mostly as Pyro, except for the odd trick shot as Demo to take out a hard to reach sentry.

My friend, Countmoney, and I were discussing when it's best to use the Flamethrower and Backburner. I find the Flamethrower to be good on offense while Backburner to be good on defense. He thinks the opposite. Anyone have an opinion?

I don't think it so much has to do with offense, so much as your playing style. If you're an offensive person, then yeah, the flamethrower would be most useful, but if you use more of a sneaky, come-from-behind style, then the Backburner is better.

My style is more suicidal pyro than anything else. I try to stay alive, but when I see the chance, I'll run in and burn the crap off a group who's point capping. I guess I'm more of a Flamethrower guy after all.

For a Pyro's weapon of choice, I would say that it's got to do a player's style. For me, personally, I base my weapon decision on the stage and situation. In a stage like 2Fort, I'd go with the Backburner, since there're so many places where you'd pop in for a surprise attack, when you're on both offense or defense. In more open areas, and perhaps something that involves point capturing, I'd be more inclined to go with the Flamethrower.

I'd very much prefer to stay alive as a Pyro, but if I see someone running with the intelligence, or capping a point, survival be damned.

Speaking of survival, I've been surviving a whole lot as a Scout. Before the Scout update, I'd always get destroyed very easily. Now that I have the Force-a-Nature, I can survive as a Scout for several minutes. In fact, I can now take part in fights. People complain about the Scout's abilities now, but I say that this is a good update. It makes a Scout as much as a threat as any other class instead of just being sentry fodder.

I really wish more people would play the 5CP maps. They're amazing.

I haven't even had a chance to play on the Updated Fastlane since the update simply because they're not run enough. And I never get to play with someone of average skill, because only the clan types play the 5CPs nowadays. Frustrating. I want to play more Egypt too, but it rapes my FPS. At least it's on the servers everywhere at the moment.

Oh 2Fort, why do you suck so much? Why do people like you when you're a horrible excuse for a map? Why do you draw players away from worthwhile maps.

I've actually been exploring the classes I don't play much lately (Sniper, Soldier, Demoman) and have come to the conclusion I am a mediocre sniper, not a great demoman and an absolutely sucktastic soldier. Aren't these classes supposed to be newbie friendly?

Now if you excuse me, I have some backs to stab.
