I guess this is a cool idea for those without a GameStop nearby and have a TRU instead. However, I really dislike the idea of used games altogether, so it's not that big of a deal to me. I could see this as a big problem for GameStop though, having a large chain compete may make them eat their words earlier this month.

I haven't heard word of this, so we probably aren't doing it. I dunno, I don't work till Friday.

Every town I know of that has a Toys R Us has at least one Gamestop, though. Admittedly, this may not be true elsewhere, but around here, Gamestops pop up a lot more often than Toys R Us.

However, I really dislike the idea of used games altogether, so it's not that big of a deal to me.

I dislike the idea of paying $40 for a game I don't even know if I'm going to like (note: local rental places suck). However, the nearest Toys R Us is 30 miles from here and the nearest Gamestop is less than one mile, so it's not that big of a deal to me.

My question is how far back on the consoles do they go.

Better is if we're talking PS1 or earlier...you can guess where I'm going. Some dumbass is going to let go of a fuck-rare game...which is hopefully on re-sale.

I can't complain about this. Gamestop tends to charge too much for their pre-owned stuff, so having more competition should drive the prices down.

Granted, there's a roughly 5:1 Gamestop:Toys'R Us ratio in my area (including two Gamestops in the same mall), so I'm not sure how much difference there'll be, but I can still hope.

This. I bought Okami, new, for $25 from them and yet Gamecube titles are selling for $35 used? What the fuck.

A lot of publishers aren't dropping their prices much lately either. I mean, who in the **** thinks Sony should still ask $60 for Lair or Heavenly Sword?

Neither place quite matters so much to me.

I have a local place nearby that goes back to NES games. Even PS2 games there don't top out over $10. I often stop by to check out the Genesis and PS2 selections... and there's even PS3/Wii/X360 games here. (I don't know their prices, though... $25ish, I'd have to guess)

There's also a shitload of CDs and DVDs there for decent prices, as well...

I can't find a decent selection of GameCube titles anywhere and I can still find PS2 or Xbox stuff.

Even at $20 each I could see myself picking up a couple of titles...

Seems that Best Buy is going to try used games again after the announcement from TRU.

Actually Best Buy did it before TRU, but the stopped the program. Guess they just got the motivation to start it up again.

II guess possible competition fueled it.

I'll find out details probably in a day and a half.

Even though I have a Best Buy right across the street from me, I doubt I'll take advantage to their used games. I don't see the point. I have gamefly, if I really really like the game and it has replay value, then I'll buy it, if not, then I'll rent it and once I'm done with it, get another.
