I got bored...so I was doing work on random topics.

More or less old news if you've already done your research (I haven't) but on Ar Portal there was a particular quote that confirmed it a while back...

Off NeoGAF...

Q: Congratulations on the 2nd anniversary of Ar Portal. Btw, I'd like to mention one thing that's bothered me in AT2. I would have liked a more challenge in the fights. I especially felt a lack of challenge on the boss fights. I'm sure you have received other opinions, but I'd really like to see this being improved upon in the next release. To everyone staff member, good luck! - Gabriel

A: Thank you; this is the battle system programmer. Here's some good news just for you. The next game in the series will have a Hard Mode. After the first clear, there will also be a Masochist Mode added. Amazingly, the battle system will be fully real-time. Furthermore, giant bosses will move fluidly like snakes.

I apologize. I'm being dellusional. Everything above is a dellusion, but the opinions of gamers are extremely valuable to us (this is true).
The entire staff is hard at work every day, so please look forward to the next title in the series!

Another piece...

NIS America's Jack Nilda confirmed at E3 yesterday that the company's home branch in Japan is working on a new title for the PLAYSTATION 3. He did not provide any details about the game aside from the fact that it will take greater advantage of the hardware's technological capabilities than Disgaea 3. Nilda noted that the company is also interested in working on an RPG with motion capabilities for the Wii, but the PlayStation hardware will continue to be the primary focus for the foreseeable future(due to the larger number of hardcore gamers). Lastly, Nippon Ichi is set to announce two new titles: one before the end of July and one in September or October. Only time will tell whether or not one of those games ends up being the mysterious PS3 exclusive.

At3 PS3 only? Quite possible.

After the crashfest that was AT2 I'm not exactly enthusiastic. Also, PS3 only? Pah.

Well, according to some people, AT2 is one of the greatest RPGs to have ever been created. The crashfest was really just NISA being NISA.

Yea NISA did create a bunch of bugs for themselves that were not on the Japanese version.

At2 is easily one of the best JRPGs to surface as of late.

Which is not to say much, really. Personally, I don't understand the appeal of the Ar Tonelico series beyond its ridiculous fanservice. The battle system is pretty nice in AT2, and it's definitely a step up from AT1, but it still doesn't strike me as the kind of game that reaches the level of greatness that Persona 3 and the still-great Star Ocean 2. Persona 3 is really special in that it actually grabbed people across the board, not just anime fans but also non-anime fans looking for a good RPG. AT2 is so anime, it hurts.

If AT3 is PS3 only, we at least know that there won't be a problem of glitches such as the one in AT2.

At least.

Are you saying that PS3 games of this nature are glitch-free?

Potentially, the PS2 could've also had this capability had the hard drive worked out and the networking not completely sucked.
