I wouldn't mind fully public annotation, as long as it was off by default and you could also turn on only author annotation.

Any other implementation of fully public would suck though. Also, does this new system have selective annotation? Like for only friends list or similar?

It's... "give out this link".

Anybody can, if they get the link. (Then you can just click "Discard and regenerate" and get a new one, if somebody you don't want to have it gets it)

It's not that bad of a system. Reminds me of Google Maps in some ways.

Doesn't seem to but then again, it depends on how you share the link. If you share it publicly then the public will get to use it, if you pass it to friends, then only they can.

Also, I'm glad to see it uses a token so that the sharing link isn't the same for all videos, like the high quality &fmt=18 is.
