Seeing as though many on this board have layouts that destroy bandwidth useage, I'm curious to see what you guys are using. Plus, I'm curious to see if I'm the only dialup user left on the planet.

Not 100% sure, but I think it's DSL here at college.

I know at least one user who uses dialup, still (Bloodstar), so no, you aren't.

Hiryuu did for quite some time, too.

I don't qualify for any of these. I had Dial-up until April of last year and then I switched over to Wireless. Unfortunately, it's not the greatest thing in the world.

Worse, two months later there was high-speed DSL available for cheaper and I'm in a contract for it for twelve months...

I would edit the poll and add in Wi-Fi (Clearwire is the same thing, isn't it?), but... I, uhhh, can't. *hides*

I'm using DSL here. Since I'm sharing the connection with other users and they often clog up the connection, I'm currently looking into upgrading the speed, which our ISP appears to offer for no additional cost.

Going to upgrade to a faster speed once I get a job and whatnot.

I remember when I used to complain about 56k being too slow.
Now I'm unsatisfied with DSL.

ADSL, with 3 Mbit/s downstream (416 kbit up). Even though we're paying for 6 Mbit/s, 3 is (technically) the most we can get (at least with this ISP). I guess that's because we live on the very egde of our town

I'm set to get DSL with 6 mbps.

I know my father can get it and he's a half-mile off from where I'm at. Fucker gets ~650K/s downloads...

I use 1mbps ADSL from Sapphire Networks. Pretty crappy but at least it works. It used to be 512kbps, but all accounts got upgraded to double the speed at the start of February

The speed test doesn't seem to be that accurate though. I usually get around 100kb/s download, 50-60kb/s upload.

I know the feeling

We have DSL, 5 MBit connection, 750kbit upload.
It's nice to have it fast, but goddam, it's awful.
The internet decides to randomly drop out now and then.
The cable company offers a 6 MBit connection, with unlimited bandwidth (as compared to 60 gigs)

The speedtest said, that on 56k, my download was over 30kb/s

I've never broken 20, though...

I dunno if it is DSL but I guess that fits for what I have.

Windstream here, although it isn't as bad as people seem to make it out to be. I have no upload/download limit apparently.

I have no idea what kind of connection it is, but it's shared with everyone in this dorm complex thing, and the average speeds are around 1-30 kb/s (I used to get around 60) but I've had it jump to as high as 12 mb/s for a split second. It is also not uncommon for it to drop to 0 bytes.
