But...

This, basically. It's not as extreme as Acmlm has shown in the past, but enough to make a few people hate me.

Near minimum wage ($6.55/hr) working retail. I hope to not be working for that company anymore, soon.

Right now at $7.50 an hour working at a pizza place. I hate it so much... No one there actually does any work so the managers expect me to work extra hard and more hours than I explicitly said I wanted to/could work, so I'm always there late. I'd quit if it weren't for the fact that I don't know where else I'd go to work...

Best I can tell you there is look online at ads. It's the only way I got out of doing work at a gas station and Radio Shack in tandem at ~55 hours a week on average.

Oh, I've seen Acmlm's posts about this in the past.

I'm behind him but not by a huge amount.

I remember Milly posting about his bank account in the past and how he has an assload of money in the bank.

I'm not as well off as him, but I have a decent reserve.

I still pay some rent every month. Obviously not a ton but I also rarely buy stuff as well. I should splurge on something... hell, I have $160 in gift cards to Best Buy.

It must be more commonplace up in Canada to stay with folks after age 18 or 21.

Pretty much frowned upon from where I've come from...but then again my best friend is still with his folks and he's almost 25...except his parents DO want him out of the house soon.

I've been doing side jobs for about 3 years everyone and take it from me it's tough. I do grunt work and fix computers when I can, shit I'm even drawing CD album covers for underground musicians on My Space. I can't wait when the economy gets better...

If anyone is intereseted try to get a job at United Parcel Service, I'm trying to get back in there too. They're part time but the benefits are freaking awesome with weekends off with pay holidays, and you get into the Union. Also you get Medical Coverage, UPS is not for everyone but you will get a workout like if you're working out at the gym, and UPS is always hiring cause there's people that can't handle the work...

~$1731/month, which I guess translates to about $10 an hour--but also with the condition I'm in school for another 6-7 years

This... might be the case for me.

Not out of not caring to find a place, or whatever, but because I actually own the house I live in now. My mom pretty much has nowhere else to go, though... I guess it could be said she's living with me, but... eh.

I don't have a job, and my mom only now started giving me a five dollar/week allowance. She doesn't work either, but she gets disability money. She's working on getting both me and my brother the same thing. Fifteen thousand or so a month. Back when I was living with my dad, he worked as well, but I have no idea how much he made.

Yeah. We got off on easy street. Except for trying to get the right people to think we're crazy, my life is laid out in a "no work, all play" style.

I think we're at 6.55 now for minimum wage here. Wasn't too long ago it was 6.25...and when I moved down here in '06 it was 5.15.
