So yeah, pick your favorite. Note that various restrictions would apply regardless.

I'd go with seperate file uploading.

I think attachments are combersome to posts and wouldn't be needed.

I personally wouldn't use it, as I already have hosting (not unlike this one, pretty much the same infact), so take whatever I say with a grain of salt.

Be it a separate uploader or attachments, I think it'd be a good idea to have a good way to find files afterward (implied with a seperate uploader, I guess)

I for the uploader really. More easily linked than attachments. Plus it seems a little less abusive.

Same here, basically.

Regardless of that, I'm sure it'd be a nice and useful feature for some people. Seperate uploading sounds better to me though, because that way you can upload files without needing to post (for IRC or whatever)

i vote for attachments, as it would allow people to directly download attached files, as far as they're logged in of course.
whereas, with separate uploading, quite often, people have to pass through multiple pages, stand pop-ups and ads, wait X seconds (usually 45), and/or anything else due to them not having registered a non-free "Premium" account. really annoying

Of course
Xkeeper would make his own uploader
So that wouldn't happen :V

I think you missed the point just a tiny, tiny bit. I meant an uploaded here.

I'd take separate uploader, but with ability to upload from newreply.php for ease of use.

Kinda like a combination of both.

Only reason I mentioned attachments to you was because you were hesitant about an uploader. I'd rather the uploader if you code something.

Separate, I don't want to keep attaching files to things every time I post.

Why would you attach something to every post?

Lack of understanding on how it works could be it, and a seperate uploader seems easier.

I wouldn't use it, myself... an uploader does seem like the better idea though.

Attachments, just, bleh. :|

Definitely the uploader. It provides better track of your uploaded files than attachments.

Using attachments can get annoying.

I have my own hosting so I wouldn't use it much if at all, but a separate uploader would be nicer, with maybe a link to it on the reply page.

I swear I've seen it spelled as seperate a million times since I first regged. It's killin me, man!

And uh.. um.. I got no opinion really. I wanted a sort of per-user type photo book that people could leave comments on for my own forum, but my laziness made such a thing impossible.
