Actually, the ppt ratio is more like 24.608663 (± 0.003) ...
The one for the first round of Acmlm's board: 20.242243;
The one for the second "incarnation" (ugh): 15.637469;
And lastly, the final Acmlmboard 1.x one (3): 18.664152.
Which translates to: more posts go into already-existing threads instead of unique threads than any of the other rounds.

I actually believe that 24 is a good number for that, it means that all threads get at least two pages. (in theory according to ordinary posts per page options)
Makes it feel like most threads are worth healthy discussion. Of course all spree threads and the Jul Pub make this number a little iffy. :/
