I about blew a gasket 2/3 of the way through it because of having to create a box with a thief and having to use about 7 or 8 turns to shoot her up there to get it done. I didn't know any other way to get past it easily.

I must've said 'you have GOT to be fucking shitting me' 10 times.

Retro Game Challenge is... *technically* half-done, 4/8 games complete.

(I say *technically* because Game 7 is Guadia Quest, the RPG. So that'll be longer than the others.)

Lately I have been playing the TMNT game for the NES.

Things go from 'insanely easy' to 'wtf, how did I die?' in less than a second in this game.

Solution: Level up further, go in with an Escape Orb for backup, run blatantly in front of your partner. Also, having three (or four for Time / Darkness) can help, unless you bring out the trash.

My squirtle partner did well in Darkness due to the lack of grass type dungeons, and the fact I would bring a Lightningrod ability pokemon with me to electric dungeons.

And reviver seeds are a must. Always.

I'm actually closing in on finishing Retro Game Challenge! (Crap, I'm actually finishing something for once...) On Guadia Quest now, then one more game and then - with no challenges - beat all 8 games.

Another excellent lesson in save early, save often.

I've had that kind of thing happen to me so many times it isn't funny. Oops, forgot to save before (something happened), goodbye hours of progress.

Yeah, at least with the DS it's fairly simple; as soon as that battery light turns red I'm saving and charging ASAP.

Never lost a game due to a power failure or battery death and I'm not gonna start now.
