I've tested it out here at the office (Professional Plus version). I can say it's faster than 2007 was and the design is a hell of a lot better.

I used just WordPad for the longest time, although over time teachers got more demanding with stuff like headers and footers that WordPad couldn't handle, plus I started to use spreadsheets.

Pretty much everyone I knew at school and such just used Microsoft Word for everything related to word processing, though.
