While I could make unique icons for them, I prefer the programmers' original idea of surprising the player. It's all up to Golden Yoshi in the end, though.

I agree with Mattrizzle. It gives you a small bit of suspense. Besides, I'm trying to keep everything in the same style as Yoshi's Island, and I think the Extra and Secret level icons work well on their own. Hell, there weren't even Secret levels in the original, so, in short, I think there are enough innovations in this hack to make it enjoyable. There may not be anything too major, but I think you'll appreciate what we've accomplished .

@Kles: Heh, someone actually did an LP of my first YI hack, albeit, it was terrible . Hopefully you can do a better job if you decide to do one .

Those icon changes are a great idea Golden Yoshi and Mattrizzle. It wouldn't make much sense to have the icons form the original game in your hack.

That looks really good. The huge pink coral look a bit outta place. Maybe making them smaller would help. The music is awesome, how do you hack the music like that?

A follow-up to my earlier FF1 posts...

Two more tilesets, the ruined world and the town. (Note that as with all my graphics, sections may be ripped- here the trees are from Earthbound Zero and Zelda, respectively, and the FF games have had a few GFX grabbed here and there as well) I don't like the the stone path turned out in the first one and will be reworking it. The NPC in the second screenshot is just there for the hell of it

(That glitching in the sky has to do with the way I brutally shoved commands into memory past the end of a buffer. It's fixed now. For some reason the game crashes though when I try to put in a second texture change command to switch back to the track texture.)

This is not as easy as I'd hoped, but close.
