Sorry for the lengthy delay again, but this time I have an explanation. I recently got a new computer, this time with Windows 7. Until now, I've been using Windows XP's Paint to create these. As I've learned, it takes quite a bit of effort to get the environment set up in a way that lets me write text without having forced ClearType or anti-aliasing. There are a few hiccups that make the process a bit more tedious, like Virtual PC only running in 16bit color and not letting me drag/drop files into its windows, but otherwise everything should be back to normal.

Quick question, has it always been paint?

Some things look decidedly like paint stuff, but some of the effects in the comic, especially early on look certainly more uh "effectful" that what you could easily do in paint.

I'm going to assume some panel elements are created in other programs (e.g. Photoshop) and then copied to Paint. I do this a lot with Paint Shop Pro.

Get someone to upload XP's version of paint, from system32.
It works just like it would on XP.

If you can't find someone to do it, let me know. I'll boot my old dinosaur and copy it over.

Didn't you think that would be the first thing I tried? The problem is not with the version of Paint, but with the fact that Paint uses the operating system's text rendering, which for Windows 7 means I get either ClearType or anti-aliasing. I have to use Windows XP mode for it, since XP was set up in such a way text in a certain size range (7-12) are left pixelly. There is an option in Windows 7 to disable font smoothing... but it applies to ALL text, which doesn't look pleasant.

Also, I use Fireworks MX 2004 for the special effects, but all the text is done in Paint.

Oof, sorry, didn't realize XP Paint relied on Windows' font rendering. That's pretty dumb.

Yeah... I'm sorry your stomach doesn't feel well. The quality didn't lower, so that's probably a good sign.

Gotta love how this comic has simple sprites and text boxes, yet it has some cool effects.

It's called the "Magic" of doing Sprite Comics right.

Very few people possess it.

Love how kirby doesn't look angry at all in the last panel. Also, BG's expression, it's simple, but instantly wins.

So, has this comic finally been laid low by inactivity? It's a shame, it was a wonderfully entertaining series.

"Was?"

So I guess skipping a month (probably because he has a job and other projects to focus on) means the comic is dead?

Jeez, calm down. I said "was" because if I'm to assume that the comic is over, then referring to it in the past tense is more than fair.
The comics have been becoming more spaced out, and this is one of the longest pauses without any posts by either Peardian or anyone else remarking on it. I'm not blaming Peardian, and I can totally imagine that work and real life has overtaken the pace of making a cute sprite comic for viewers online. You needn't be so venomous right off the bat like that.

I don't think very many other people assumed it was done for though, i certainly wouldn't expect it to end on such a cliffhanger o.o I hadn't noticed that the latest strip had gone up, actually..
