Finished Life is Strange last night and it left me as a blubbery mess.

Really powerful, touching story. I like its story and characters more than Undertale's.

I just finished beating the final boss of Yoshi's Woolly World. Whew!

Despite a few minor disappointing features, overall I love the game, and not just because I love the original Yoshi's Island. Even with all the kid-friendly features, the game never feels too kiddy or dumbed-down. The difficulty level is right on par with Yoshi's Island, with some of the bonus stages being even harder. The controls feel responsive and natural, and you can even hover indefinitely if you're good enough at it. My main complaint about the game is that there are only two mini-boss characters that you fight three times each, but even then, I like how they managed to keep the fights varied and interesting.

Overall, I think this is finally the sequel that Yoshi's Island deserves instead of Artoon's attempts.

(Note: Not counting Yoshi's Story because it is more of its own game than a sequel.)

I've been hearing a lot of good things about this game, so despite still working on some Super Mario Maker levels I went ahead and bought this game!

It seems like it's a fair bit harder than the previous games (though admittedly the last one I played was Sky); at one point in the tutorial they give you a Petrify Orb to pass by two somewhat-strong opponents but I decided I wanted to save it for later, more difficult dungeons, so I retreated in a corridor to take 'em on one at a time and just try to trade blows to pass through... and proceeded to faint in the tutorial. They give out lots of dungeon items but I guess they really expect you to use 'em to get through, hahaha.

Got a used PlayStation Vita (slim) for really, really cheap after trading in some games at a local store, on which I'm now playing Hyperdimension Neptunia ReBirth 1, aka "an exercise in how to position your characters to hit the most targets at once".

But seriously, it's a good enough game in a series that has always sounded interesting to me, and whose Steam version runs pretty badly on my PC, i.e. with graphic glitches and low-ish FPS. So, it was almost a bit of a no-brainer for me to pick it up during the European PSN's Black Friday sale, which has nicely coincided with my first couple of days of Vita ownership.

It's certainly not everybody's cup of tea, but I'm liking what I've played so far, i.e. a few hours of the PC version, 8 or so on Vita. The battle system is interesting, including the aforementioned positioning of your characters, characters are pretty likeable despite being rather archetypical, although it's not as polished as it could've been and suffers from occasional glitches (ex. had one battle somehow accidentally run at double speed by way of frameskipping, or something).

I started playing Elite: Dangerous and it plopped me in a system that I need to haul ass out of ASAP, because all the starports are too far apart from each other.

This game is beautiful. Even traveling from one place to another is exhilarating, and I don't think I'll ever grow tired of hearing my ship's engines wind up for supercruise.

I've been getting back into Splatoon lately, I've obviously been playing Super Mario Maker a lot, but what I've been doing in my spare time as well...

...has been playing MH4U and aiming for 100% awards. Huzzah!

Feels nice to finally have 'perfected' the game after over 900 hours of gameplay, all that's left at this point is the never-ending grind for random flawless weapons, so who knows how much more I'll be playing this. I still have Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon to get back into, as well as all the new Steam games I got...

Oh yeah, and because it's come up in IRC before, I thought I'd screenshot this for posterity:

...holy crap.

That's a lot of game time.

I finished Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition. I'm nearly at 100% too, just a few more chests and pesky Infierno Challenges.

Got a MOMO wheel so I'm playing racing games. Assetto Corsa with it is really fun, but I kind of need to turn down the force feedback, going over curbs will make the wheel shake violently. Also, driving the RUF Yellowbird (a modified Porsche) with it is scary because any wrong move will cause the rear to start to slide.

Been playing Super Mario Bros 3Mix, a fun and interesting hack a lot better than the original game. I've got all the star coins up to World 4, then as I went for the World 4 fortress...

I've hit this visual glitch

EDIT: (replying to Schezo's post which I meant to do but forgot, ooops) I remember trying to play a few Mario 3 hacks and, even though they were good, I didn't really enjoy them all that much. Then again, the NES Mario 3 isn't my favorite of the Mario series (if anything, I grew up playing the All-Stars version).

I haven't played any new games in a while, but I suddenly decided I would play one, specifically, one that I kept hearing about for some reason: uhh 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors. Thing is, I don't really know what to say. One thing I know for sure: if you play this game, you're in for one hell of a trip, it's craaaazy. There's stuff and things everywhere, everywhere, I tell you.

It vaguely reminded me of "Ace Attorney: Investigations" at moments for some reason, probably because of the mystery theme/atmosphere + the puzzle solving. The story is complicated, but if you look for all the clues you can piece it together (you'd need, not only, to pay attention to the dialogue but also to replay the game a few times). I wonder how they were able to make the story align like this (can't go into specifics, 'cause spoilers). The puzzles can be a pain if you're not all that clever (a.k.a. me), sooooooo yeah. It's an interesting game with an interesting story, that's the best way I'm able to describe it I think.

I was planning on doing the Hoshido and Nohr routes a few times each to get used to the new mechanics but they're very good at guild-tripping you regardless of your decision... I'll probably only do each one once (starting with Birthright) then move on to Revelations.

Man, getting all the supports is gonna be complicated though...

Juuuuuust beat Zelda II: The Adventure of Link on my NES for the first time without cheating.

Man I don't know why I used to cheat all the time in games. I'm far better than I ever gave myself credit for.

So, I started playing Mario Pinball Land... and finished it in one sitting. It's a surprisingly short game. It took me around 5-6 hours to complete, though, because I'm bad at pinball and the game is not designed for pinball novices. I spent over 10 minutes stuck in one room because I couldn't hit the door gate I wanted without running into the other door gates first. In fact, towards the end I realized that I performed better if I aimed to accomplish the opposite goal of what I really wanted to do. Sadly, that strategy worked.

If you're a fan of pinball, I guess you might get a kick out of it, but if you only want to play it because of Mario, it's not worth it. Just watch a video of someone else playing it instead. For someone good at pinball, it's possible to 100% the game in just over an hour. Seriously.

That game is ok. I agree that it's more fun as a pinball game than a Mario game. Personally, I'd rather play Pokemon Pinball if I am to play a game boy pinball game just because I'm more used to it. I guess at the end of the day it doesn't really matter because I suck at pinball games anyway. I think getting the game done in an hour is pretty good when you consider that the physical limit to 100% the game is 34 minutes.

I'm not playing any games at the moment. However, I know what I am playing 3 months from now. HYPE. AS. FUCK.

Not really into a game atm, though I might pick up some Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker soon. But currently
I've just been screwing up my Pokemon Yellow cartridge with some glitches, so thats fun.
