The house just finished voting on the senate's version of the bill, which means it's going to Obama. The vote was 219 to 212, no republican voted in favor.

Washington (CNN) -- The House is set to vote Sunday on the health care bill passed by the Senate in December.

Here's the latest on what's happening on Capitol Hill:

10:48 p.m.: The House passes the Senate health care bill, 219-212.

All 178 Republicans opposed it, along with 34 Democrats.

The House then moved on to consider the reconciliation package.

Although I'm not really clear on what exactly the bill has become over all this time, as I stopped following all the little changes. Judging from that article, it seems people got really caught up on details regarding funding of abortions. I'm pro-choice but I don't care much either way if the government funds abortions at this point, I'm more concerned with funding everyday routine health care and special situations like you need an arm reattached now and your bank account has 37 cents in it. The rich don't deserve to live longer than the poor just because they're rich.

That unfocused semi-rant out of the way, could anyone please enlighten me on the exact details of the bill and what it means to someone like me (uninsured US citizen with somewhat significant medical expenses)?

Yes, finally! I've been waiting for this day to come since... I don't know, 2005 at least? I feel that this will greatly improve our quality of life, bring health coverage to many uninsured individuals, and research new drugs that can wipe out the diseases we think are incurable. =)

Ideally, this bill will actually get my brother some coverage (He has Type II diabetes AND was born with a mild form of CP on top of that.) He cant get coverage from anywhere, and some jobs are even turning him down because of the fact they'd have to give him coverage.

That's all I really want out of this bill. People who NEED the coverage, GET the coverage.

No, it is not. The whole bill is already in Obama's desk, the house yesterday voted on an additional "reconciliation bill" to "fix" the differences they had with the senate, that is what the senate's going to vote on.

I'm not sure if I'm happy about this or not. I agree that our medical system needs a major overhaul, but from what little I've gathered on this bill, which admittedly isn't much, it just seems like a big mess all in the name of "health care reform OMG" that may or may not make things better. Probably the later.

Then again I haven't really been following this thing so I don't feel that I know enough to have a solid opinion on this. All I know is that right now, I'm in the bracket of people most likely to benefit from democrat policies, so personally, I will probably benefit from this. I can't say the same about the rest of the nation however until I see the full effects of the bill after years of implementation.

I don't really have much faith in this nation as a whole. I don't agree with either political party on how to get out of the mess we've created. But then again, I am just as clueless myself as to how to solve that.

I'll have a more composed response after I fully understand what this bill encompasses. I will say I don't think its as big as democrats make it out to be or as bad as republicans think it is. I do not think it's right that public funding for abortions was including, as I am pro life. This is basically forcing me to pay for something I entirely disagree with. Whether or not you're going to is not my choice, but leave tax payer dollars out of the funding.

That is me as well. I can morally tolerate such things as socialized medicine. I don't like it, but I can. But the abortion funding is horrid. Of course you will argue that Obama's executive order solves this. Well, congressional mandates override executive orders. In other words, Stupak, you just got duped son.
