My laptop startup time isn't bad (maybe 30-35 seconds).

My desktop? >= 1 minute, at the very least.

I'm not sure. The last time that I measured it, it was a good 5-10 minutes? Mind you, that is from pressing the button, to having the desktop usable, which includes typing in my password. I cannot remember right now… And I would embed an older video of my laptop starting up, but I seemed to have removed them from my YouTube account. Darn.

I am not sure why I didn't see this while looking through my videos. Anyway, here it is. I may try to make a video of my current computer starting up if I can ever get my hands on a decent camcorder or get batteries for my older point-and-shoot.

Mine's about 30 to boot Windows, another 30 to become fully responsive.
But then again I haven't gotten rid of all the Gateway preinstalled shit yet, so it might speed up a bit yet.

I'm gonna hope that with the hardware I have in mine it's less than 30 seconds, but I'm not sure. I'm gonna try to remember and check it when I get home.

actually yeah it probably does take longer than that. Damn.

EDIT: It came out to around 56 seconds. A good 5+ seconds is spent just trying to get to the POST screen.
