| Would a patched rom be okay to trim? based upon where the changes in information are placed by the NSMB Editor, would the trimmer delete any of the changed/added data? |

No, it should be fine to trim; trimmers only remove free space (i.e the same free space that NSMBe uses to put files that are too big into.)
But if you trim the ROM, all the free space would be trimmed, so everything that NSMBe needs to move would be tacked onto the end of the ROM. |

I think it should work... i'm not sure about how editable are trimmed rom's, for example if you trim it and replace some files with bigger ones. The editor would try to put it at the end of the ROM, but as there's no space left, i dont know if it actually makes the rom file bigger or crashes or fails sliently...
If someone tests it, please confirm if it works or not.
Thx

NSMBe makes it bigger

I really wanted to know, because I'm thinking about redistributing it somewhere every time I come up with a major progression in my hack, and I'd rather upload 19-20 MB every time, rather than 32.
Thanks for all the feedback ^___^ |

Never, ever distribute the ROM itself.
Distribute an IPS patch against the previous version, and/or the original ROM.
That'll make sure you don't violate any legal stuff. |

little late for that, but I doubt I'll get caught. Hosted it on Mediafire, titled '~New Super Mario Bros. - M64M Edition.rar' and it's 11.48 MB. Even if they find out, it'll just be removed from the server. And it's made private, so if you do a search of Mediafire, it won't show up. You'd need a direct link, or be an admin/mod at Mediafire, and they've got bigger fish to fry. (like 'The_Hangover_dvdrip_xvid_free.rar" ) |
