Haha, funny you should mention "brick" and "PSP" in the same sentence.

I *did* semi-brick my PSP once when I dropped it.

I was on a custom firmware, so a quick recovery fixed it.

How am I still 4th?

Maybe next month I should try to not rank.

Colin posted last year's JCS accidentally and applied the scores accordingly.

Normally, you would be stuck at eighth place.

But the few times I've dropped my DS'es, they didn't break on me. No, what I think did it was the constant having them in my front pants pocket that did it. Walk around, run around, jump up--and down, sit down, turn around, next time it opens *SNAP*
That being said the top screen is still fine, is just that a wire gets pinched or something and the screen starts getting shaded in some method. The first DS's screen got a tint of red that made yellow turn orange and green turn yellow, also making FMVs look worse for wear. The second DS's screen does this weird thing where everything gets brighter...and if the screen is black I could swear I see the outline of where the lights are. I'm not sure how to explain that...if somebody wants, I can upload some pictures of it.

As for the other news...really now? 03-09-09? Well then. That's...not...expected.

Weird. My hinge broke, but the wires to it aren't hanging out, so it still works normally.

Huh? Oh, there's no wires hanging out. I'm just making a guess that the screen is so out-of-place thanks to the crack that moving it in the right place (or at all) puts pressure on the inside wires (all on the left side of the hinge) and causes a bit of weird things to happen.
And info: it's so bad on my first DS that the left side of the hinge is all there is left. That's right, there's no such thing holding the right segment of the hinge in place, leaving the top screen to dangle if you hold it as such. That's why I'm not wanting to use it for gameplay anymore. Not at all.

If you want pictures of it I can show you...but only if you ask for them, I'm not going to just take the pictures w/o anyone wanting to see its condition.

That's my DS, more or less. I'mgoing to eventually replace it with a DSi XL, so, I'm still playing mine.

Then again, all I do is play Mario Kart DS anyway.

Yeah, from what you said, sounds like the other DSes have loose wires. I can't see mine either, as the inner part of the hinge still covers stuff (that weird cylinder thing which moves around freely.)

Alright if I say it again? All the wires are inside of the left part of the hinge. I guessed it to be the model standard after the first one, the second one seems true about it, Metal_Man agrees with the wires being on the left side, so why would your hinge be any different?
You say 'weird', I say 'go figure'. And I only knew it cracked when it did because it made the noise that it did. Where it goes *snap* every time you close it after having opened it all the way. The five minutes before it was (seemingly) fine. Next time I open it? *SNAP* And now I need another DS. (But of course since I use one of the more outdated flashcarts, it will need to be Lite or Less otherwise I cannot play the games that I used to)

Shrug.
More of the Right side / Right side breaking part. Wait I just repeated myself didn't I.
Alright FORGET WHAT I SAID then.

I don't think it's a general durability problem, as mine was pretty pretty damn forcefully on tile flooring.
pretty pretty, DS of glamour (or does tile flooring bite)

...oh wait.

Tile flooring bites when it's a four-foot tall.
My bad.
