Editing manually means either using Tile Molester or the new graphics editor in 5.2 beta.

But yes, you're right, it could be possible to import/export a 256x224 image with both tilesets and reconstruct the palettes. I have support for that already coded, its only a matter of integrating it with the tileset editor..

Gridattack has a level where it appears that all the enemies being killed off in a room activates the 197 sprite to destroy blocks. I tried opening his rom, but can't because it crashes the editor. Anyone know how he does it?

Could it be possible to make a NSMB editor for touch handys? So you need a micro sd card, and put the rom on it and a java file for the editor and then the handy loads the rom from the micro sd card. Is it possible?

of course it is, but I think, dirbaio has not the time to do that
he also stoped the ds-editor, because he had not the time for it.

In the texture editor, I tried changing the palette of the switches. I was able to edit the switch how i wanted using a new palette, but for some reason, it is only saving the old palette. So, i can't change the orange ! switch to green. How do I save the object in a new palette? I tried deleting the other palettes and saving with only the one I used.

I used the palettes from the enemy-ncl.bin to color my switch green, if that helps to answer the question.

You cant save a texture in an other palette. But you can change the old one to green
This would solve your problem.

Hi guys, Im kinda new at posting.

Ive been makin my own nsmb hack lately.

Recently i encountered two problems that i couldnt find the answers to anywhere..

I recreated world 1 level 2 area 1 and on desmume it runs great. But when i run it on my acekard the level has a red square around it with a red line in the center..

I figured if it ran great on desmume why would it mess up on the flashcart. Plus my other 2 levels have been edited wayy more and they look and run perfect.

My other problem is this.
I edited the tower and everythin was perfect.
One second it was running perfect on desmume.
The very next second i tried playin the level and now when i go into it. The screen is just black!
It was literally from one second to the next.
I figured i would export the level and import it into a clean rom.
But it still does the same thing for both levels =(

Could someone help me out.
Im pretty new at this stuff and was just doin it for fun, but i really started to enjoy it.
Only to have this crap happen lol.

anyways if u guys could help me recover these levels & teach me how to recover files when this happens it would be awesome!

oh yea. also wut are the: "name of rom".ds1 or ds2 files??

I play my rom on Desmume and my Acekard 2i. Both are always exactly the same as far as rendering what came from the editor.

Nsmb Pro, I got the texture editor working well finally. Thanks for adding on to the tutorial.

Is it possible to use the texture editor to edit Bowser Jr.? anyone modded anything animated besides the koopa and goomba sprites?

For me it look like the 16x16 grid of the editor ...
But I dont know, how it could get into the level.
Just rebuild the level (export a level what has not the bug and import it into the buggy one, then do, what you want)

So what is the secret to the go behind tiles? Is it a tile behaviour?

Also, what software did you guys use to edit the castle? Or can you give me a hint on how to do it?

1) It is difficult to make the GO-BEHIND-TILES effect look good, because you have to edit the suitable NSBTX for the tile. (AND very often the colour palette) It is REALLY not easy to do that. (But NSBTX are MUCH. MUCH easier to understand than NSBMD^^)

2) What Castle? If you dont know, just click at W[any world you want] - Castle, then on the area you want to edit.

Thanx for any input guys.

Yea im a little confused how the red square got into the level too, but it doesnt matter, I did ended up rebuilding the level; this time i backed up the rom every millisecond lol =P

Also, I was curious too, how you edit the castle at the end of each level when u finish the level and mario walks into a little castle..

I noticed some hacks have the castle edited to look cooler (New Super Hacker Bros). But when i import the tilesets it only changes the way the level looks. not the end castle where mario walks into after grabbing the flag?

Could someone help me out. as to editing that part? or wut file it is or something lol =P
