As the title suggest springboards will power mario to reach his goal.
All of W1 has been wiped and rebuild (not just modified!)
A few new objects have been added.

Grassland walls that you can pass trough:

New Tower with door + strange door:

Barbed wire - works like spikes:

Upsidedown slope:

Tunnel:

Let me know what you think.

Include:
W1-1 (6 springboards)
W1-2 (10 springboards)
W1-3 (7 springboards)
W1-T (18 springboards)
W1-4 (6 springboards)
W1-5 (2 springboards)
W1-A (5 springboards)
W1-C (6 springboards)

Also modifyed: (But really from my other hack).
W2-1
W2-2

New link 25th mar. 2010: (For ROM (E) version!)
The zip contain a exe and bat fil that will make the patch for you.
Just unzip all to a folder, add a clean (E) ROM named "Springboard Power Mario.nds" and run the batch.
(If you dont trust the exe just download a fresh ApplyPPF v3.0 - I guess any other ppf patch tool also will do).
http://www.mediafire.com/?k2xgj0nwj2j

Other PPF patch tools: (Also for Mac/Linux)
http://consolecopyworld.com/psx/psx_ppf.shtml#PPF Patch Engine

W1-1 view 0 and 1:

W1-2:

W1-3:

Think this is the best "hidden" star coins yet. Easy the get when you know how, but hard to figure how.
The strange door take you to W1-1. (Seems to change when other levels are modified so it might take you else where.)

W1-T: (click to watch larger version).

W1-4:

W1-A:

W1-C:

May contain spoiler!: (As a part og my level idear is that the player must solve how to get past some parts).

Mmmm, the images look decent, kinda hard to judge the levels from them though.

I thought a few things about this level were cool. I liked how you hid the first and second coin, and I like the door on the hill shown in your first screen shot. However, most of the level is too... 'weird' and doesn't really make sense. there are other issues I have. like the places where you allow two power ups to spawn from adjacent blocks.. the way there isn't really a cohesive flow to the level.. The position of the flagpole at the end.. Its just that the whole level feels like its strange for the sake of being strange. I like the 'feel' of it, where you're basically roaming around on stuff high in the sky, and I dont really have a problem with the direction of it, like the water section, but it just feels kind of bare. The aesthetics could use some work, too.

ASM Hacks on NSMB? Now? Hahahaha! It's too early. We'll have to disassemble the whole sprite system and its way too big
I tried to and i gave up after half an hour or so... There are lots of subroutines that call other subroutines that use weird tables and global variables... I don't know where to begin with... Aaaahhh!!

The level is quite cool. I like it! You could improve visual stuff, like not using the brown blocks. Use the grassy ground instead, it looks better And you should differentiate that jump-through ground with the doors in it from the normal one, for example making it darker. Some bushes would look nice too
Good work. Keep it up! Maybe you can make a hack of such challenging mazy levels...

Thanks, I liked it so much I have skiped the levels between the tower and castle and have now finished the castle with a even larger machine.
Thats actually two machines... One you need to control to prevent the springboard ending in lava....

I cant get the download link to work.

I watched the videos and I am really impressed by how the machines work. Quite ingenious. I hope you get approached to design future SMB levels!

scroll down to the 'download now' with the green arrows, and click it. Scroll down, and wait the 30 seconds. Once it's done, click the blue 'Download with FileFactory Basic'. Unzip with WinZip/Winrar/WinAce, and you're good to go.

This is why I prefer Mediafire

Hi, thanks for uploading to mediafire.

Filefactory sucks. Anyway, I might play it today or tomorrow (with cheats if you don't mind :p)

After that I'm gonna check out how to destroy blocks using ? switch.

Thanks.

I played and i managed to beat with the three star coins world 1-1 and 1-2.
In 1-3, i think there's a bug related to the star coins that makes them disappear when you enter some entrances: The star coin is there. I go through a pipe to hit a switch to get it, go back through the pipe and the star coin is no longer there??? Haven't tested it a lot, so I'm not sure what entrances / star coins are involved...
In 1-Tower, (yeah, now i'm completely sure) the springboard machine is broken: the moving stone blocks don't push the springboard at all...

What ROM Version are you working on? I patched it on a U ROM. I tell you because different ROM regions can behave differently. For example, W1-A in HSDB (the clone level) works in E rom, but not in U rom. That might be causing those problems...

VERY nice levels. I LOVED them.
BTW, i found out it's possible to "stick" the giant sprite on a wall, it's a funny bug. Maybe you could use that?

Strange about the startcoins and springboard machine. My org ROM i a (E).
Just tried to patch a (U). In the castle machine the springboard stick to the block :-(
The star coin works. You might have a older patch from before I fixed a starcoin numbering error.
However the editor crashed patching - I pressed "continue" and it seems the patch was applied.
It must be due to the (E) version.

The giant springboard? - yes it sticks to walls, in the W1-1 water it even got stuck for me one time.

Thanks...
Will try patching the latest version on an E rom and play it.

You could use the giant spring bug on your levels. For example, you can use that to jump higher than if you have the giant springboard on the floor. Put a star coin very high, where it can only be reached using that bug

Something is wrong with your newest patch (20 march)...

It white screens on my AceKard 2.1 (completely freezes, softreset doesn't work), gets to the Nintendo logo after a wait and crashes (with No$GBA fatal error) in No$GBA, and on DeSmuME, it gets to the Nintendo logo after a LONG wait, passes to the main menu, and freezes once I hit "Mario Game" (top screen background jumbles up).

Patching on a supposedly clean rom. Tried patching using both 5.1b and SVN head.

No$GBA
