I use a yahoo address and it worked for me - just got sent to my spam folder as I expected. So, at the very least, yahoo's cooperating.

3) Are you implying that this is one such forum?

(Apologies if my Sarcasm Detector is broken; I'm suddenly prohibited from editing due to a new {totally understandable} measure to keep spambots away, and it seems AOL addresses are not supported...so quite frankly, I'm upset.)

If he wants to use AOL, as far as I'm concerned, that's his prerogative.

That being said, I also tried it with GMail and it worked fine. I can't really say much on the new system, but I got an e-mail and everything just fine. Did you check a spam folder as well to see if it happened to go in there?

If that's not the issue, then probably just some bugs to still be ironed out.

Yes, and it's not there. ...Wait, didn't I already say this?

Yes. Yes, I did.

That's what I'm thinking. The only forum I know of that doesn't allow AOL email addresses is X-Cult, and I don't normally go over there anyway.

Still, I can be patient.

Yeah, pardon, I just kinda missed that there.

Let's see what happens. If all else fails, if you got a second e-mail you can just dump stuff into (like I do), go for it.

I've entered my email address and saved. It says I'll get a confirmation email, but it never actually gets sent.

Does the automatic system have something against AOL? I've tried entering an all-lowercase version of the same email address and clicking on "send a confirmation email" several times each. It's not in "Old Mail", it isn't in the Spam folder, it's not in my alternate AOL account, and I even deleted the cookies TCRF stores on my computer and signed back in.

Nothing works.

And I was auto-confirmed before this, so it shouldn't be happening at all.

Well, I'm thinking it's got a fault.

I can probably tweak things a bit, give me some time to fix the settings.

As for everything else, check spam, and next try something other than AOL's e-mail. They're kind of notorious for dropping some non-spam stuff while letting a bunch of actual crap get through, if my grandfather's inbox is any indication.

By the way, is TCRF's time set to PST or EST? I thought it was EST, but then did you switch it to PST for your sake, Xkeep?

I've never had the "dropping non-spam stuff" problem until now, and I've never really had problems with AOL otherwise.

I don't have accounts with any other email clients for the simple reason that I've never seen it necessary, and getting one just to have my editing privileges approved would be a waste of resources because I wouldn't be using said email client for anything else.

(For the record, I just tried using my aforementioned secondary AOL email address {one which I never really use, aka "the one I thought the original confirmation email somehow got redirected to"}. Didn't work.)

How is this a problem on our end if other people are getting their validation emails just fine? Doesn't that indicate that the server IS sending out emails as expected?

It's a problem at our end because AOL LOL I find it funny that after all these years, AOL users still think email addresses are actually bound to email clients. I guess everyone gets the service they deserve, really.

It's set to whatever time zone you set it to. It offsets from UTC as should every other server on this planet.

I'm curious as to how many of those are going to "[name]@aol.com".

I used the wrong terminology, I think -- I was referring to the interface of aol.com, not the idiotic AOL browser/standalone .exe (AOL 9.0, etc.)

Still, it shouldn't be doing this. I'm thinking of making a Yahoo/Hotmail account to just end this, although I don't really want to since I know I'll never use it again.

(EDIT: Yeah, I made a Hotmail account and got the whole thing taken care of. I also added the address to my AOL "contacts" list and tried it again {didn't work}. It's switched back. Sorry for the trouble, folks.)

Dang it, it doesn't send me the confirmation mail. My E-Mail account is registered on o2.pl, if that helps.
Also yes, i checked the spam folder, and it's not in here. Waited 3 days for the mail, tried to get it resent 5 times with no luck.

Edit:
Gah, screw this. I'm gonna use my Gmail account email for TCRF.

Super Mario Advance 4: Fog

It's actually used... During airship cutscene (after "Help us Mario blah blah", but before you are at airship).

But I'm not sure, so I'm asking.

I found out something interesting while browsing TMK's SMB2(US) glitch section (http://themushroomkingdom.net/bugs/50). "Note: Though each Sub-Space visit only lasts for about 6 and a half seconds, the Sub-Space music data stored in the game is about 14 seconds long. Using the glitch above, you'll get to hear the entire 14-second remix of the Super Mario Bros. theme."

Shouldn't this be added into the Wiki?

What's with the craze to create pages for a specific console version of a game, even though they're the same (IE: The Shadow the Hedgehog page)? It's a waste of time and just confuses people. IMO, all of the info should be on one page.

So...

I'm working on documenting Pokémon Diamond's maps, and I've already found a decent number of unused ones in just the 50 or so I've gone through so far.

So, I think it'd be a good idea to work on a subpage layout- there are easily as many unused maps as in Gold and Silver, though most are less dramatic- just houses and the like, even unused floors of existing houses.

How should I handle the work on the layout? Don't want to take up the entire sandbox with it- would it be Sandbox/whatever (as a subpage of Sandbox) or do I create it in the intended destination and not "open" the page until it's finished, or what?

Create it as part of your Sandbox, so other people can see it and comment on it before release. The option to not opening pages is reserved for administration anyway, so it'd set a bad example for non-admin users.

Since when are codes that access hidden/unused content not allowed on the wiki? I posted a code to access the hidden text in Castlevania II : Simon's Quest on the wiki and it was removed by YK. I see several other additions to the wiki where a code is used to access hidden content so why wasn't my addition allowed? The response on the removal was "This ain't a cheat code site.". If I was in error by posting codes that unlock these hidden features then please let me know before I attempt to submit anything else.
