I decided to put a [re]post on GBAtemp trying to get people to make some levels.

Well, one of the users thought it would be funny to attack the place with a botnet.
That sings never gonna give you up on their irc.

So I think I'll hold off on that one there.

Do you guys know of any other forums/whatnots that might be interested in this?

I know, it's not a personal project really, but it looks like it fits in that one best

I'll do the post it when I get around to doing some screenshots with the levels from m64m and Hiccup.

I can make some screenshots of my level for you, if you want; just tell me the dimensions and format you want them in.

Also. I'm willing to donate at least two more levels, however I want them to be from worlds 3 and on. I'm still working on world 1. :/ So there's the dilemma. I'll try to up production as much as I can though. I'm about 40% done World 1.

Nice...
I'm still doing 5-1, and i will probably make some more levels.
I don't have much time because i have to work also on the editors (the PC and DS versions ) but i'll finish it soon.

Hey, there isn't any rush here to get things done, so no worries

And just do the screenshots however you want, I can format them to fit whatever's needed.

m64m, your level is awesome --
I just haven't beat it yet because I fail pretty bad at games <.<

Because I can do that.

I would like a patch I might be able to test the levels

I have been thinking about making a web page with a PHP script to organize community remixes.

It'd work like this: someone could a project, and the project owner can assign levels to registered people. Then people can submit levels (.nml's exported from the editor) and then a patch is automatically generated, which is instantly available for download.

It would be cool. what do you think?

Hmmm...
I need two areas for my level, and 5-1 only has one...
I'll put it into another level, for example 5-A.

It'd be most easily done in ASP.NET. Why? Because the editor is written in C# :p

I can do it. (You'd need to find a host, though, or have your own server (with apache or IIS) and install mod_mono (if apache))

Yeah, but we dont need to port the whole editor...
Just a small script that creates a patch from a set of files. Wouldnt be hard.
I'm looking at it, but it's definitely possible.

No porting is needed, since ASP.NET supports C#.

Just rip the patch generation part.

Yeah, I'm making all my levels super difficult. At the end, it's suggested you find the Mega Mushroom. Look in the editor if you can't find it

But that's cheating!

I actually gave my little brother your level to play for me,
a moment later I look and he's pulling down a red flag.

I actually have an updated version for you. Minor glitches I found within the level itself. And I made it harder well fixing it =D I'll edit this post with the upload in a minute or so.

EDIT: http://www.mediafire.com/?nm4t5hzrznr

it's just area 1. That's all that needed fixing. (as far as I can see). Let me know if anything's messed up.

If anyone wants, I'll write the little site now.

Just one thing though; do you want ROM patches or level files?

ROM patches!
Generating patches is quite easy. Look at LevelChooser.cs

The patch format is simply a header saying "NSMB Editor patch" or sth like that, and then a list of files: Filename and its contents.
To create a patch, you can simply have people upload files, and then put all those files together into a patch.

Well, I got a video made of me losing at m64m's level.

My main issue it that I'm kinda bad at playing games -- the computer makes worse.

And thanks to level placement and savefiles, it's the only level I can get to.
- because I cannot beat it that's why -

I'll just link it here when it's up on youtube
