Yay, now we can flail with our arms while sitting in a train or something

I hope there will be no games which abuse this, else all players will look like idiots when they are shaking around the handheld.
But better graphics sounds nice. Maybe it will be like the Gamecube's graphics?

I'm not sure that motion sensing would work that well on a handheld, considering that some people play their handhelds in situations in which they have to walk around and move. I remember this kid walking around a campground playing a GBC years ago.

Then again, it seems to me that a few GBA games included motion sensors.

Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble for the GBC did that years back. :<

Yoshi on the GBA though, used it in better ways... kinda...

It would be cool to see the graphics on that thing... especially Generation V Pokémon Games (hmm... maybe PaleWhite and DarkBlack? (not referring to race or anything ))

I'll be expecting a Super Mario Sunshine remake too, probably

What else can they do for versions of Pokémon? I mean, they've already done life and death (Ho-oh/Lugia), fire and water (Groudon/Kyogre), time and space (Dialga/Palkia)... but we can explore other possibilities, like light and darkness... (but you can argue that Cresselia and Darkrai cover that )

They might even surprise us with Generation V being something unrelated to a legendary duo/trio, actually... could it be the first legendary quartet?

Why not just "Ketchup Red" and "Mustard Yellow"

hell, you could even forgo the whole "OH NO POKEMON     (supposedly godly pokemon)     IS GOING TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD IF WE LET TEAM     (inept team of nasties)     GET THEIR HANDS ON IT WHAT TO DO

and now for something completely different

They'll just kill off the main series and make Mystery Dungeon games.

Actually, I wouldn't mind that.

And also maybe an Emerald remake

Hmm... I wonder if it could be motion and touchscreen, but that could get complicated, not to mention exspensive. Also, I wouldn't be suprised if they completly redo Pokemon, starting with 2 games with completly new Pokemon, no old ones.

I wouldn't expect it for a long time, the DS still sells like water in a desert ... maybe (most likely) Japan will get it about 6-12 months before we do...

I lost faith in Game Freak a long time ago. They need to move away from Pokémon and do more fun, original games like Drill Dozer, but they won’t because they just don’t bring in money (which is a darn shame, as Drill Dozer was really great).

As for the handheld, well, at least that means the DS will have some end‐of‐life sales sometime in the future. I game a generation behind, so…

They already tried that with Ruby/Sapphire (you can read as such in interviews), and everybody complained. That pushed them to the current trainwreck that is constant remakes.

Holy crap, a new handheld?! It took the Gameboy 13 years to go from beginning to end, and it was only for several new buttons and graphical improvements. THe DS is still in year 6.

Of course, Sony wants the DS to burn and die, and I guess Nintendo has decided that the only way to protect their handheld market would be to make a new one.

Just hope this doesn't go the way of the Virtual Boy.

Competition is a bitch. Typically good for consumers, though.

All that I can hope is that motion crap won't be shoved into every friggin' game.

And anything above PSP graphics would be nice. Although a higher resolution would be nice. Smaller pixels, br0.

I doubt it though, there's decent chance of the DS2 having backwards compatibility, like the original two DS systems and the GBA.

The fact that they're still using game-specific friends for the Wii is an absolute fucking tragedy.

To be fair, Nintendo's main concern has always been for safety of the users over limitless online play. A large part of their target audience are in fact kids as young as 9-10. It's also worth mentioning that the Wii is set up so that you can't have a universal friend code with someone, and they probably have a good reason.

I'll be interested to see what Nintendo does with this new system. Whatever it is, I have a feeling we won't be let down.

i have never really had any problem with nintendos friend-code related stuff, but it would be nice for a change.

as for this new handheld, i dont want them to release it anytime soon. i just spent 300 bucks on a DSi and i want that to last.

The Xbox and PSP and PS3 have this amazing feature called parental controls that disables such silly things as the internet until you put in a code.

in other words, Nintendo could stop being everybody's mother, but...
