I haven't had anything too disappointing, luckily... but it's always annoying if I get the wrong gift (it especially happens with electronic products, like getting the wrong type of memory card, etc.)

I was also expecting a PS2 and FF9 back in 2000, but my parents didn't get me the PS2, saying that "FF9 is for PS1 only"... don't PS2s also play PS1 games? However, I did get a PS2 for my birthday just one month later

Can a non-Xmas present count? I got a Space Invaders not-really-handheld when I was expecting a GBA once, but I got the GBA later for my birthday.

As for this year, I got a man's shirt My mom wanted a Wii, a wide-screen TV, and a waffle iron, but didn't get any of that. Maybe my dad's gift encyclopedia is missing its W volume

Well, this year I kind of wanted one of those hoodies with the thumb holes in them (although I never mentioned them at all.) That was kind of it. I pretty much got what I wanted (even though it wasn't all that much in the first place.) :p

To be honest, I've never been disappointed at my gifts. All of them have either been practical or neat, even that small crafted bug which wiggled it's legs when you shaked it. I loved it :3

I'm not disappointed at anything because I didn't ask for, nor was I expecting, anything! I got $20 worth of Taco Bell bucks from my friend Scott's mom (score!), a new outfit of clothes from my parents and some replacement guitar strings.

Last year we did a secret Santa and someone got me a shirt.

A *flannel* shirt.

Which was also quite large. And it looked UGLY on me and everyone at work concurred. Note that this was a green flannel shirt as well so for that to look bad... quite a piece of work.

...At least it fit my grandfather, so that worked out nicely.

Well, I got a broken present courtesy amazon.com, but other than that I got pretty much what I expected/wanted. Although, apparently some of the presents haven't arrived yet, so I guess that might count too. Hooray for really slow mail...

I was a little annoyed to get a gift card for Best Buy, instead of Future Shop like usual, when I noticed that everything is much more expensive at Best Buy. Plus I don't like gift cards much to begin with, since I could've got the same things much cheaper online, and now I have $10 left on the card. About the only thing that'll buy me there is some el cheapo cell phone cases.

OH WELL I GOT STUFF ANYWAY plus a lot of free food which is really nice

I'm thankful for everything that I received. I'm flabbergasted at how much my father decided to spend on me—I know I'm not a child anymore, but I still don't think I deserve what he got me. Not to mention I don't know where he keeps pulling out all of this money, as my mom says we're having huge financial issues. My dad even pushed me to make a list rather than him sit with me asking for nothing, which also surprised me. I'm seriously just irked about where he got the money for all that he spent.

The shirts my sister got me I'm kind of edgy about, though. One is a dark brown long-sleeved shirt to be worn under this plaid that she got me, which is primarily white with dark red patterns over it. I know she's trying to get me to reach out beyond white/gray, but this blend of colors is going to take me forever to get used to—assuming I actually get used to them.

The only thing that sucked was actual post-Christmas, as my father picked up an incompatible video card for my computer. When we exchanged it for one that would fit, we couldn't get the sound to work, which may or may not have been due to the fact this computer was long overdue for a Chkdsk. I initiated Chkdsk after my father removed the card and uninstalled the drivers, which ended up taking about thirty full hours to get through. Subsequently, ran a program for killing registry errors, and it turned out there were about 1700. Christ.

Going to have my father reinstall the card in the next couple of days while I'm out at work—I don't want to do it, nor do I want it done while I'm at home. I'm never optimistic about things going smoothly.

and new year's resolution: take better fucking care of my computer
