Let's Make A Story

How do I play this game?

Easy, just continue what the previous poster wrote, continuing the whole story. You can write anything, but try to keep it realistic to the story. You also have several special abilities to make the story more interesting. Think it as a fight between writers.

- Write at least 100 words, but no more than 200 words. (can be changed, depending on how interested people are in writing)
- Continue the story, don't start writing from a different perspective, unless you use the MEANWHILE... power.
- Stay true to the scheme!
- You can do everything, make buildings collapse, introduce new characters, but I'd advice to keep it as simple as possible. Buildings need a reason to collapse as well.
- Use your powers well, they are limited and only rewarded by me. You might find more powers as the story evolves.

At the start of your post, you may invoke a power by simply typing the name of the power with bolded font. You may then proceed on writing while affected by the chosen power.

MEANWHILE...

When a writer uses MEANWHILE... - power, he / she may write about something else than the current story, which is affecting or affected the story so far. For example...

After the poster finishes his / her post, the next poster has a choice to either follow the new scene or return to the first one. When MEANWHILE... is used, the next post cannot be a MEANWHILE...-post.

REPLACER

Using a REPLACER gives the writer the possibility to modify one sentence in the previous story, to any of which he likes. The replaced sentence must, however, follow the story, so that it doesn't look odd to the reader. The best place to use this is on cliffhangers. For example...

REPLACER

"WTF", he cried out loud. "Where is my penny and where the hell I am?"...

You can use this power as many times you can.

SWITCHER

SWITCHER causes a maxium of three words, any words from the previous post, to switch places with three other words. Simple as that. Same rules as REPLACER, the post must make sense after the switch. You can use this power as many times you can.

TIME WARP

TIME WARP is the ultimate tool of destruction. Using this power simply causes the previous post to be ignored and you may continue where he / she was supposed to. Of course, you can add some snazzy time warping story there, but amnesia can be used as well. Or just, ignoring the post. This power can be used only once per five posts and is not available from the very start.

SCHEME CHANGE

SCHEME CHANGE is the ultimate tool of destruction. With this power, a writer can change the whole orientation of the story. Not really into this romance shiz? Let's turn it into survival horror! Yeehaw! This power can be used only once per five posts and is not available from the start.

Everyone starts with one MEANWHILE... and two for REPLACER and SWITCHER.

More powers might be unlocked later on...

By the way, that table can be hard to read with that black font if someone (such as myself) has layouts off, but, whatever.

Of course there's more to it. Feelings, family, other people, school and more. These things affect how do you live your life, how well do you fare etc. But it still doesn't change the fact.

I, too, follow this same pattern every day. And I've seen it happen every day. You and me aren't different in that subject. Yet, I am defined by the world as an outcast. I am not even denying this fact, no, I am merely using it as it was meant to be used.

If the world cannot fanthom my ideals, then I must create my own.

You are awake.

Till you die.

Catherine sobbed. Her sweater was all greasy from the trip in the trunk and her eyes were red. She had cried for so long that man had throw her in this small black room. The walls were a slightly bumped, she probably was in some basement. The floor was covered in dirt and a dim light illuminated the room.

"Hmph, so do you really think she of all people has any potential? She's sobbing like a baby in there. You'd think one of them would at least be able to deal with being locked in a room for a short time, seeing as they all do it for eight hours every night."

"They don't make sense. Perhaps we should pay her a visit. Just remember to look familiar."

The two figures stood shortly in front of a row of monitors, shrouded in darkness save for a faint outline around them from the light of the monitors. Watching the girl on the monitor for a short while longer, both figures simultaneously turned and walked out of the room into a well-lit hallway, before turning and walking down towards the dim cell the monitors had been showing.

As they walked, one of the figures began to change. His face began to look aged and friendlier. His mannerisms, which had previously been identical to the other's, appeared to be far more casual now. Finally, his clothes, which had previously been an implausibly clean suit, now appeared to be a pair of tattered slacks and a stained white dress shirt. The transformation completed once they reached the cell. The door to the cell was opened, and the two men walked in. The supposedly elder man began to speak.

"Hey, honey."

Catherine jerked her head back in reaction to the familiar voice. She began to say something, but her expression merely changed from a surprised one back into a disappointed one as she turned her head back away from them. They began whispering to each other in incredibly quiet voices.

"Damn, she already knows."

"Just keep at it and stop making assumptions. Even she shouldn't be able to be so sure with just a glance."

The suited figure steps forward and returns to his speaking voice.

"Now, don't ignore our guest, Catherine. Surely you don't want to go back there again, hm?"
