Since there are far too many conflicting assumptions that could be made about the prompts, "Who would win in war?" and "Choose the superior race" (Even though one of those isn't a race, but, whatever), I'll be using several situations based on what I suspect would be common assumptions.
Situation 1: Child Saiyan Vs. Young Jedi-in-training - Saiyans are the type who could smash boulders and become an Olympic sprinter before an average child learns how to communicate. A Jedi-in-training is, at best, an child with somewhat abnormal athletic abilities and a dengerous sword. Unless this Jedi-in-training is used to a far greater gravitational force than the Saiyan (which is unlikely, since both of them are humanoid-ish) it is unlikely that the Jedi would win without getting extremely lucky with his sword, and that's assuming that the child can't already dodge anything that fast. In the event that the Sayian would turn into his "monkey" form, however, it's far more likely that the Jedi would win, seeing that the Saiyan goes into a slow blind rage in this form while s/he's still a child.
Situation 2: Average Saiyan Vs. Average Jedi Knight - At this point, the Saiyan could utilize powerful energy attacks and should be able to clear the majority of planets of all life, given enough time. The Jedi, however, is still an abnormally skilled swordsman with a dangerous sword, but now with some telekinetic abilities and a refined mental state. In almost any situation, the Saiyan should be able to kill the Jedi before he could even get close to the Saiyan. The same should go with the "monkey" form.
Situation 3: Goku Vs. Yoda - Essentially, the champion Saiyan VS. the champion Jedi. Goku is the kind of guy who could go around destroying planets if he wanted to, while Yoda is pretty much just the last Jedi mentioned, but a lot more so. In theory, Goku should be able to kill every Jedi that has ever existed with a snap of his fingers, assuming they were all in the same general place.
Situation 4: An actual war between the Saiyan race and the Jedi Order - This would be before both of them nearly ceased to exist. Given the last few situations, and the fact that the Saiyans would probably outnumber them quite a bit, seeing that they fill up an entire planet supposedly larger than Earth, this would hardly be a contest.
So, yeah, from a logical standpoint, the Saiyan race is far more powerful than the Jedi Order, but I personally think Jedi's are cooler; therefore, the Jedi Order wins. |
