As I'm sure we've all heard, Bills TE Kevin Everett underwent emergency surgery for a neck injury, and there's a chance he may never walk again. Latest word is that he does have voluntary movement, though, and may even walk out of the hospital. The surgery involved removing bone chips from his spine, among other procedures:

"Cappuccino repaired a break between the third and fourth vertebrae and also alleviated the pressure on the spinal cord. In reconstructing his spine, doctors made a bone graft and inserted a plate, held in by four screws, and also inserted two small rods, held in place by another four screws."

Everett suffered the injury making a tackle on a kickoff return.
